Bajos del Toro Attractions: What to do & Places to Visit in Bajos del Toro
"I visited one day while staying in Zarcero. The drive was maybe 25km and with the narrow winding roads and section of gravel road it was a 45-60 minute trip for me. I was glad to have a rental car as this place is sparsely serviced by bus and/or taxi. I think there may be a few tour companies who mi..."ght come as the car park was huge and they have dining space enough for a large group. You enter through a dining room paved with wood log cuts and all the tables are slabs cut from tree trunks. There are hummingbirds flying all around the edges and you can get some great photos around the feeders. Outside the dining room is a viewing area looking over the waterfall. It is a step drop onto a gorge/sink hole. The path down to near the bottom is about 1km, half of the trip is fairly flat and the rest is a steep journey of about 400 steps. "This is the most amazing waterfall I've ever seen in my life. The trail leading to the bottom is steep and long, especially when hiking out but worth every bit! The views are amazing all along the trail. There is an abundance of flowers and plants as you walk the trail through the jungle. We were fo..."rtunate enough to have the entire place to ourselves when we visited :). Don't miss this!!!

"Catarata Del Toro is a breathtaking place. We visited Costa Rica from 1 Dec-30 Dec 2012, just after the rain season and it was absolutely gorgeous! One of the most beautiful countries we have ever visited. The hotel had recommended to us to definitely pay this site a visit, known as the 'Secret of Co..."sta Rica'. The road to this site is a very challenging one, but one will not regret to have undertaken the trip to this almost magical place. The day we visited this site, we were all by ourselves and very much enjoyed this site that makes you speechless and leaves you in awe. Not to mention the amazing amount of hummingbirds to be found here. This site is also frequented by countless huge butterflies.(the big blue one)
Next to our visit to the vulcano Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii, Catarata Del Toro is a beautiful, unforgettable waterfall site!
