I only wanted to go to the Nelson-Atkins to see the Shuttlecocks but it snowed our last day in KC which made driving tuff. When my wife and I finally made the trek through snow covered streets and arrived at the museum we figured we would kill some time and wander around the museum in hopes the streets would improve.... more

If you must visit Kansas City, you have two choices: BBQ and art. Kansas City is blessed with an abundance of small independent art galleries in the Crossroads District, largely spurred by the ever growing roster of art students who linger after graduating from the Kansas City Art Institute. This could arguably be characterized as the only world-class attraction in Kansas City. I have lived in KC my whole life and never tire of visiting "The Nelson". Outstanding collection of Asian art.
