If you have young children and Christmas is important to your family, I would highly recommend this Santa Train excursion. The ride itself is scenic. There's a magician, balloons, singers, and Santa himself was a dear fellow and excellent with the kids. He worked hard to get to everyone in the hour. And I thought the festive décor on the... More

On November 22, my family had a great time on the Santa train. My youngest son's 2nd birthday was on November 23, so we took the opportunity to celebrate with his favorite thing, trains! We were in coach 106 on the 11:00 am train. We travelled with my three children (ages 2, 6 & 10), my niece and nephew (ages... More

We are especially glad to hear you chose us for your son's birthday train ride as well. Come back for another ride during the regular season anytime for... More

Themed train event was a disappointment for the Cost of Tickets and Travel Time. Great displeasure was in the lack of activities to entertain the kids on the train. A balloon (sword, dog or flower), a 30 sec passing by a guy singing and playing a guitar, and a musician who is not keen on young kids not understanding his... More

My partner and I went on the fall foliage train tour and the train was filled with children in Halloween costumes. It was a little loud and not terribly relaxing. At the end of October there weren't a lot of fall colours to see either since the trees were quite bare. Don't expect a lot; however, the train is operated... More

Hi. Thank you for your review of our train. Our Halloween trips and Fall Foliage trips are two different types of train trips we offer. Fall foliage is from mid September until Mid October; Halloween trips are during the last two weekends in October. It sounds like you rode during a Halloween excursion. We would like to have the opportunity... More

We went there for the first time for Day Out with Thomas with 6 year old and a 4 year old kid. What we like best was to take picture with Thomas. The 15min train ride back & forth in a straight line was a disappointment, just old train car with stickers on the wall, thomas music in the background... More

Thank you for taking the time to review our railway, We are disappointed to hear that your day with us was not fabulous. We experienced some last minute air conditioning issues in one of the coaches right before the start of the event. It has since been corrected. Our apologies for the warmer temperatures inside the coach. The train ride... More

Travel back in time as you board this heritage train, Staff is knowledgeable, ride is fun for the kids. You can imagine travelling by train years ago with clickity-clack and gentle rolling of the car as you pass through the forest and across farm fields blowing with the passing wind. Upon returning take the horse and wagon ride around town.... More

We went on Hallowe'en and had lots of fun. It was appealing for both young and old. Great that volunteers still keep this train going. Well worth the money!

Thank you for your positive review of our railway. Our volunteers, young and old, and from all walks of life, work hard all year long in order to maintain and improve our equipment, A lot of the work is done the old fashioned way with lots of manual labour and minimal modern technology, just like our first generation diesel locomotives.... We booked our seats in September for a December 14th train ride. Somehow we ended up sitting the only car that didn't have proper seats. We literally sat on steel kitchen chairs at a bare wooden table. The sights were nice.

Thank you for your review. We are sad to hear about your experience on board our train. There are photos and a virtual walk-through on our website and in our online ticketing service to show our various seating arrangements. All seating is assigned and shows on our seating map and photos which coaches have tables and chairs versus benches. We... More

My kids were very excited about this trip. The experience itself was fun - it was cool to ride on a 50s era train. Two clowns came by first and made balloon animals for the kids. Right afterwards Santa came by the seats to sit down with each table separately. I thought the Santa was great! Very kind and engaging... More

Hi. Thank you very much for your review of our heritage train. We are happy that you and your family enjoyed your experience with us. We normally do have a snack bar on board for our regular excursions from June to October, filled with refreshments and treats. The Santa excursions are the exception to on-board services so that the at-your-seat... More

Our family rode the Santa Train on Saturday December 6th. This was a 4 generation family outing, which was enjoyed by the old and young. The day is a chance for kids to ride on an older railway car and meet Santa. Every child I seen was having an amazing time, laughing and singing christmas songs along with the guitar... More
