Owner description: A unique personal collection of over 400 Classic British cars, commercials and motoring memorabilia. Please note there may be some dust and oil among the cars as the owner is not as young as he was and cannot get around them as often as he would like. Volunteer cleaners very welcome! In addition to 38 Morris Minors, there are Vauxhalls, Hillmans Minxes, Triumph Heralds and 2000s, Oxfords and Princesses, Rovers and even a 1923 Dennis Fire Engine used by Hastings Fire Service at the time of the Hawkes Bay Earthquake Disaster in 1931. The hand-cranked siren is still attached and Ian encourages children to turn the handle for fun!

An amazing collection of British Vehicles and memorabilia. It bought back a lot of memories of times when we owned some of these cars during different stages of our lives. If you are ever in Hawkes Bay it is well worth a look.

We stopped by the British Car Museum on a rainy day in Hawkes Bay and found an astonishing collection of classic British made automobiles, mostly from the 1930s to the late 20th century. What an impressive collection, something you'd expect to see as part of a worldly museum exhibition, not discovered in a roadside barn in the small community of... More

Thank you Brad and Jill for visiting us. Yes it was a wet day in the Bay, but its always nice and dry in the Museum - we make sure to keep it that way to protect the cars from rusting away. We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit and look forward to welcoming you back soon. By the... More

Astonishing collection of British cars saved by a wonderfully eccentric old guy. Don't expect highly polished rows of Ferraris or Astons this is a great opportunity for enthusiasts and nostalgics alike to put their heads inside the windows of old classics and smell the old leather and remind themselves of childhood day trips in the from the 30s to the... Yes, some of the exhibits are a bit dusty. This is not a commercial enterprise run by enthusiastic marketing-savvy entrepreneurs; its the personal collection of an enthusiast who isn't as young as he was. The interior of the building is reminiscent of most people's private garages back in the 1960s - strips of carpet on the floors, tools and axle... More

Grumpy man at the door, old dusty cars crowded and piled on top of each other in a dark, damp hangar. Unless you're a fanatical enthusiast of old cars or in a seriously advanced nostalgic mood, don't bother.

Incredible collection of 400 British cars, of all models and types, set in a huge garage. Loved the vintage car-horn doorbell you ring to be let in. There is lots of other old stuff to admire too, mostly transport-related, but also some vintage pianos and even church organs.
