The parking is hell dirty ! The place is average..good to visit in evening. The walk is good . Avoid if you have elderly people with you.

Nice place, too much of water, good to spend the day hours, couldn't stay back for the late hours missed the evening scene but the day hours went really untired with the cool breeze and lighter sunlight it really made the day. food is okay, you can carry your favourite food along to enjoy eating too.

Its very educative for children and adults. Make sure you take the bus ride to the top (Vaikunta) where you can get a bird's eyeview of the entire dam. You can see the power generation plant, drinking water plant, canal systems and river downstream all in one place. A shuttle bus (Rs 20 pp) stops at Vaikunta (top), near the... More

You need to park your car and hop on to a bus that will take you to the Tungabhadra dam. The structure is majestic and huge. If you're lucky you can spot some birds including the green bee-eater

Not much to do there. The view of the dam is splendid though. Gardens are okay and they have a deer park but that closes by late evening.

The parnaja aquarium at this park is horrible!! There is no oxygen in the tank for most of the fish!!! They are gasping for air!!! The carp are flashing with whitespot illness, and the turtles have no landing pad to breathe air on so they have to swim forever without sleeping or else they will die!!!! There are dead fish... We were camping at Hospet. We were leaving that afternoon and didn't have time to go to Hampi. A friend suggested that this would be a good time to visit the Thungabhadra Dam (TB Dam). The dam was quite nice, stunning view. We chose to walk instead of taking the bus up to the dam because it was only 15... More

The Tungabhadra Dam was a great achievement for a newly independent India. The movie shown at the dam explains well the history and highlights of the dam. Really worth visiting.
