A nice view of the river

Went there towards the evening and it was a pleasant experience. There was a dancing fountain show and they did it quite well.

The dam is an excellent place for sight seeing, but the transport to the top is not very good and needs to be improved.Thereis no reason to stay at the top for more than 15 minutes, but you can get compensated by Tungabhadra Gardens' beauty, vastness and the musical fountain show ,which is as good as Mysore's Brindavan Gardens.Overall, we enjoyed the... Tungabhadra dam is in Hospet and you can reach there by using the frequent bus service. You will have to walk up to the topmost point from where you get a clear view of the dam and reservoir. The walk is very pleasant specially in the morning. The nearby garden is nicely maintained although smaller in size than most of... More

Normal Garden with Dancing fountains. One can visit if he enjoys strolling in garden. We could see the reservoir though the gates of dam were closed.

I went to Hospet on a winter morning in the month of December, 2015. The Suvarna Karnataka Sarige KSRTC Bus left the Majestic Bus Stop in Bangalore at around 9 Am and reached Hospet Bus Stop at around 3:30 Pm, covering a distance of 340 Kilometer in around six hours. The bus took the NH-4 to Tumkur via Jalahalli Cross... More

Based on feedback from a friend, we decided to pay the dam a visit before we returned to Bangalore. We started after breakfast and it was a 1 km walk from the security post to the dam. A pleasant walk in the morning (around 10 am in December). The dam was quite usual. Huge in its expanse. And they never... More

Most remarkable feature of this landmark is it is dedicated along with a life size bust of the engineer Thirumalai Aiyenger who designed and supervised its construction. It has a small tourist bus which takes one on a sightseeing trip including to the viewing platform on top of the hill by the the the dam which offers excellent view of... More
