The dam area is pleasing with greenery. Though we are not allowed to go close to the dam, the bus takes us to a point where we can get a full view of the TB dam with all its lighting during night time. The backwaters look amazing from there. The garden with its musical fountain is good but could be... More

We went in July (being Monsoon) and water level was high. The view from Top is breathtaking and you would feel like as if looking at an Ocean. There is a Park and Boating as well available. Please do have the Boating Ride which is available for 100Rs per Trip for 4. Is very much fun and I enjoyed it... More

Not much to see if you have already seen a large dam and not a barrage. The dam supposedly has a light and sound show near 15th August, could not see any.

we went near the dam in the evening while it was getting dark. But the view of the Tungbhadra river was amazing . The river looks more like a sea as it is quite wide. it appears light greenish in color. The place was clean and very very windy. we did not go to the gardens as kids were tired.... More

We visited this Dam last month on 20.06.15. We enjoyed the trip. It is at walkable distance from the hotel we stayed i.e. Karnataka State Tourism Hotel. The view of the water from top, near the lighthouse is awesome. The garden is beautiful and maintained cleanly. On the whole one can never forget the experience. - Balasubramanian, Dharmapuri (TN)

we went along with four families with children. Unfortunately we went after the sunset, but with the limited light available, we enjoyed the scenic beauty of the dam. A definite must visit for all ages. Only disadvantage is you need to take a 10 min bus ride from the bottom of the dam. Wish the authorities can let go people... More

The dam is a on the outskirts of Hospet - a 20 mins drive. Parking is easy to get with plenty of food hawkers. One can either walk it to the dam or take a shuttle which charges a nominal fee. The shuttle takes you all the way to the guest house area on top which offers a 360 degree... More

Great view from top. Must visit at sunset time. Other activities, musical fountain (after sunset 7:10 & 8 pm), aquarium (below average) & deer park. Ideal place for evening outing with friends & family. Children will love it.
