Tungabhadra Dam is the largest dam in Karnataka and is situated 5 km away from Hospet town. On the way you can see surrounding hills and coffee plantations. Dam offers beautiful landscape. entry is restricted due to security reasons. But there is a light house near the dam where one can climb and take in the fantastic site of the place.... More

Great place to visit - but bus service inside the Dam has to improve. No proper line - very inconvenient travel.

It is huuuuuuuuugee dam ... !! the only thing is there are toooo many people around and the actual dam is inaccessible without prior permissions. So please do take permission from the Dam authorities prior to visiting so that you have the best view of the attraction !!

The dam is a beautifully built dam which shows the combination of nature and beauty together. The dam is built in a strategically important location. Between two hillocks. The view of the dam and the catchment area from the vaikunth park/guesthouse is really breathtaking one. the road leading the dam is a serpentine one which winds around the mountain. the... More

There is garden and musical fountain. Musical fountain is worth seeing except loud music it plays in between two shows. The audio system is horrible. The synchronise fountains are worth seeing. The show is of 20 minutes and is charged INR 10.

visit the dam in the evening for the lighting.. simply beautiful. The musical fountain is ok. the garden is pretty and the aquarium is quite a disaster. However, the visit the dam was worth it. The view from the top feels like a piece of the sky is falling through the waters

They had opened all the gates. What more can you ask for !! Reservoir looks like an ocean. And the hot mirchi bajji + drizzle made our day. Beware of monkeys.

TB dam is a drive of around 7Kms from our hotel in Hospet. We arrived at the entrance at around 6PM. You can walk a couple of Kms to the top or take a bus. The musical fountain was nice and the garden well-maintained. We visited over the Dussehra weekend and the place was quite crowded. Worth a visit.

Park your car near the entrance and hike for 1km. Great view of the dam and back waters right next to you. Get down the steep stairs to enter the park if you are keen and watch the musical fountain (entry is charged). Very neatly maintained

Nice surroundings, good walk up to the dam, a park for recreation, view of Tungbhadra river. You can see, you can not touch.
