We were here in August 2014. As the peak monsoon was over, the reservoir was overflowing and all 32 gates of the dam had been opened to let the water flow out. Being 16th August, day after Independence day, the lighting of the dam was in a tricolour and it was really a beautiful sight to see. be sure to... More

Me and my wife were here in end Jun '14 - the backwaters. Visit this place in the evenings when the whole place looks like a beach (no sand, of course) with cool breeze blowing. Metal seats cemented to the floor are placed. There were hardly any tourists (only locals minding their own business) when we visited since it was... More

the reservoir is huge, it seems like a sea :D we went in evening during sunset, nice weather and beautiful view. Dam was almost full. Only bad was the stored water, it was blackish and full of plastics, oil waste. take the bus being operated by the dam authorities else one needs to walk a considerable distance.

The dam itself is very impressive as an engineering feat but the gardens and musical fountains were really not worth the visit

This garden is touted as a mini Brindavan garden. However if you go with this expectation you would surely be disappointed. First of all the garden is very poorly illuminated and there is every likelyhood of one tripping and slipping on the wet surface. The dancing fountain is pathetic, There are no proper sign boards directing one to the fountain... More

One problem is no toilets at the entrance, thou it is present, but too dirty to go, but u can find at the... More

You need special permission to go all the way to Vaikunta ( Tower ). But if you can get it, you will have a beautiful drive and view of Dam, water and gardens.. specially during the evenings. There is also musical foutain in the evenings which is good.. A walk in the garden is also okie. And do not miss... More

There isnt anything interesting. The place isnt tidy. Some good views of the river but that's all you get. Good place for locals to chill out but surely not for tourists.

This is probably the last place you would see after everything else and you want to kill time. The only thing nice is the view but you will share some concern to see the water level of the dam quite low. Summer time is very hot and you squeeze inside this tiny bus that takes you up to the top... More
