Wonderful Art Gallery in the middle of the nature

Sarah is very welcoming and her art is beautiful, it's a nice walk to the studio. My boyfriend and I went there after our stop at the cheese factory.

We were walking along a forested trail when a high school gym teacher and his students, all jogging, suggested that we might like to visit Sarah Dowell's art gallery a kilometer or so farther along the trail. Meeting Sarah and her husband and viewing her art touched me deeply. What a woman! Her art, art cards et are very affordable.

"Deep in the jungle" of Costa Rica we fortunately discovered a hand painted plate with an arrow leading us to Sarah Dowell's art gallery. It takes only a couple of minutes to follow a little path through the forest to reach the beautiful garden of tropical plants and flowers. At the front door of the adventurous timber house we were... We were delighted to make our way out to Sarah's gallery yesterday. But let me stress a bit when I say "made our way". Her gallery is truly on the beaten path. Getting to her home/gallery was definitely part of the experience. You may be able to make it up there without a 4x4, but I'm very glad we had... More

Sarah and her gallery are not easy to get to...but TOTALLY worth the effort. You can walk the access road from the cheese factory or drive (though you'll definitely need an SUV). Her home is absolutely beautiful, and she welcomed us whole-heartedly into her attached gallery. There were probably 50 paintings to peruse. We thought they were beautiful and brought... More

A wonderful gallery in an intimate space off the beaten path. Talking with the artist in her home, the art, the whole experience is one of a kind...and the paintings very special and reasonably priced.

My parents wandered up to her gallery and brought me back two paintings one day- one of a jaguar and one of a howler monkey. They are great! I am a wildlife biologist and love having paintings of the tropical organisms I study.

This place is a bit off the main road but if you like watercolour paintings is well worth the trip. We wandered up 500 meters from the cheese factory, along a rough dirt road but it was well worth the trip as we purchased 2 paintings that will be a great reminder of the trip.

We loved the beautiful walk up to the gallery, even spotting an agouti littering around foraging for food on the way which added to the beauty of the walk, what an amazing place to live! We loved the paintings & were sad we'd forgotten our money to buy a painting, if I can convince my husband to do the walk... More

We were unsure if this place was still in business since there had not been a review since 2012. We stopped by. It is still in business. Her house is adorable. Her paintings are beautiful. She is very pleasant to talk to and deal with. The only real challenge is getting there. We parked at the cheese factory and walked.... More
