Included in our Costa Rican Christmas holiday trip's party was our 5 year old granddaughter. Looking for special activities for children that age, the idea of a horse riding experience came up. She lives in Alaska and had only been on very short pony rides at the fair. Also, she is a typical unpredictable 5 year old, so we weren't... More

We rode Sabine's horses 4 days of our vacation in Costa Rica. We had such a great time on our first ride, we just kept booking additional days. My husband and I are experienced riders. We have our own horses and we have also ridden rented horses in Canada, Colorado and Germany. We have never ridden horses horses that are... More

We had an amazing morning riding to waterfall ( although trekked the last bit) and exploring Monteverde. We rode past coffee and sugar plantations and eventually arrived to a view of pacific ocean! The horses are very well looked after and are in great condition. As a beginner I had the 'safest' horse which really looked after me and even... More

Great few hours with Sabines horses. We wanted an experienced group and ended up going out just the two of us with a guide. Amazing time trotting and galloping in the trails around Monteverde. Our trusty guide spotted a toucan and sloth as well. Lovely coffee stop at a cafe with hummingbirds. Great time and good value compared to the... More

If you are looking for a trip with well kept, relaxed horses: Sabine's smiling horses are wonderful. The trip was perfect, accompagnied by Sabine's daughter. We went to a beautiful waterfall and had a coffee break in a nice soda. The horses are very nice for children, even if it's their first time they sit on a horseback.

I am not a horseback rider; however, thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Was apprehensive about the galloping uphill and finally got comfortable with it at the end of the ride. Guide was informative and all three of us felt this was the best activity we did in Costa Rica. Relaxed pace and wonderful way to see the countryside. Recommend riding to... More

We arranged for a two hour ride on a beautiful warm sunny day so much so that I left my rain jacket at the stables. Alfonso was our guide. Our horses were good fits for the three of us. The weather turned on us quickly to torrential rains, temperature dropped 30 degrees and the wind was blowing at least 25... More

My sister and I ended up with a private afternoon ride to the waterfall. The ride felt very safe (there were more guides than there were us!) The horses were obviously well taken care of and were calm; they handled inexperienced riders without a problem. The trek down and then up from the waterfall may not have been worth the... More

My boyfriend and I did the waterfall tour and it was truly an amazing, magical experience. Our wonderful guide Alonso was absolutely delightful -- kind, helpful, and knowledgable -- and we really enjoyed our time with him. It was my boyfriend's first time on a horse, and I hadn't been on one since I was a child. The horses are... More

My husband and I decided about 2 hours beforehand that we wanted to go horseback riding. Despite initially not having any availability left at 3pm when we wanted to go, they found a guide who could take us out and made it work. Our guide, Alonzo, was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He took us to a small waterfall... More
