Visiting the Seven Cascades was the best part of our holiday. The highlights being hiking, swimming, picnicing and learning about the fascinating flora and fauna of this beautiful area. Finding a good guide is important. Jay Tannoo guided us on short notice after I found his details on a forum and contacted him. He is friendly and speaks several languages.... More

Jay our tour guide was extremey knowledgeable he spoke perfect english and knew what every leaf, bird, tree was!! His lovely wife made traditional mauritian food for the hike and was delicious! Through our hotel concierge we got the contact details of Prakash (tel 57608367) and agreed to meet him at the bus terminal in Henrietta the next day. He arranged everything for picnic; we just had to bring our swimming clothes, a towel, sun cream and insect repellent. The trip brought us to all waterfalls, twice we have been swimming. Prakash... We spent today at the waterfalls with jay and "wow" doesn't even come close! The scenery is breath taking and the water is so cool and refreshing. Jay was just great. He lives locally, has been doing the tour for years and knows the waterfalls inside out. He's really passionate and knowledgeable about the wildlife. He knows the safe places... More

Jay Tannoo accommodated us for a guided tour with only one day notice when we had a day spare at the end of our trip in Mauritius earlier this month. We had an amazing day! Jay was very knowledgeable and passionate about Mauritius, from the plants and flowers around us to the local and national history and politics of the... More

On the 16th October together with family and friends I made my second excursion to the falls and thanks to Jay had another wonderful day. Quite rightly, Jay is very passionate about preserving the natural status quo of the falls and preventing these become another tacky adventure park. Mervyn.

We visited the 7 cascades in early September 2014, and like many other reviewers took a guided tour with Jay (jaytannoo@yahoo.com / +230 57641372). The trek to the falls involves a steep decent through the forest so I'd strongly recommend using a guide and wearing sturdy footwear. Jay was very friendly and having grown up in the area had good... I booked this with Jay by e-mailing him on <jaytannoo@yahoo.com> I'd read on some sights about tours that involve jumping between the falls which worried me a little but this tour is entirely on foot and is safe. Bring swimwear to change into if you want to swim in some of the ponds. I'd recommend walking shoes with a good... More

we booked a tour with Jay who everyone recommends on trip advisor and we weren't disappointed. But make sure that you have mosquito repellant on, take a baseball cap and wear long trousers. I didn't do any of that and jay luckily had some mosquito repellant but I still got bitten 5 times on my legs wearing shorts. Definitely wear... More

This one is off the beaten track, we had a hire car and a map ( although not so much of a map as more a hint of what could be there). It took a while but we finally found the area and were lucky to find a tour guide ( low season and not many people around). Your need... More
