I'm 62 and my adult son wanted me to re-live some of the hikes I used undertake in my much younger days! So I joined a group of friends on this adventure. We only managed to see three of the cascades as we started late morning. I loved this hike despite the difficult and sometimes dangerous terrain. The challenge was... More

We discovered Jay Tannoo (jaytannoo@yahoo.com) through this thread and were very pleased to do so. Jay takes you on a tour through to the middle section of the waterfalls and then walks you up back to the very top. Thank you very much Jay for the conversation, good humour, lunch and the voyage of discovery. You gave us perhaps the... More

I ve been there several times as a kid, and it is truly wonderful. Some degree of fitness and agility is a plus as there are no (thankfully) man made paths to walk through, which keeps it as one of the still wild and natural attractions of the island. And please keep it clean!

It is one of the best places I've seen since I'm here (5 months). The visit is perfect if you want to enjoy a good hikking. There are two options: half day (only 3 or 4 waterfalls) or full day (starting from the last one, you'll visit all them). Avoid this outing if you don't have a minimum conditions, it... More

Aha! we went looking for these falls, one bright Sunday morning. After much search, we managed to locate the circuitous route to the falls. Much to our disappointment, we could only view them from afar through the village narrow pathway. Surely, it deserves a better a viewing point! Later, we were told that the fun is in trekking to the... More

We booked a guided hike to the waterfalls with Jay Tannoo (jaytannoo@yahoo.com) during our trip to Mauritius in mid June. We started our trip at Henrietta Bus Station, our taxi driver knew the spot well as a meeting venue. There were basic facilities there to use before starting the trip. Jay met us there, he was extremely friendly and easy... More

My husband and I organised a walking trek with Jay Tannoo. It was the highlight of our trip to Mauritius. The waterfalls are spectacular. We visited 4 out of the 7 falls and were blow away by their beauty. The day was made special because of Jay. He is very knowledgable about the history of Mauritius, the flora and fauna... More

Really cool hike down to and then up the waterfalls. Our guide Jay was brilliant, very knowledgeable about all the nature of Maritius as well as the local area. His wife provides a delicious and authentic picnic for the trip. Deffinitely take your swimmers as a swim under the falls is the highlight of the day!!
