This museum was a great recommendation by the Concierge at our hotel. It was a direct line from the conference center to the Foundation Beyeler in Riehen through the beautiful countryside on the #6 tram. The setting and grounds around the museum were beautiful and made for a more enjoyable outing. The exhibits were a wide and varied mix of... More

A great little museum filled with masterpieces in a stunning modern building and views of surrounding countryside. Besides an amazing permanent collection, this museum has rotating exhibits. A must when in Basel

It is one of the few museum built exactly for the purpose. Lights are great. Spaces rational. Renzo Piano, simple and respectful of his role. Half an hour from Basel Central station by tram. A must. Two stops later you will reach Germany where food and drinks fifty percent cheaper.

Exhibitions, some of world standard, are changed about 3 times a year. Check out what is on. If it is art that you think you'd enjoy, then this is a great location to see it. Tranquil location, in summer it is nice to have some coffee in the garden.

I enjoyed very much visiting the BEyeler Foundation. If you are staying at the Hotel D- BAsel you can use your public transportation ticket that will take you for free directly there. The building was build by the amazing Renzo Piano and right now they have an exhibiition based on the Russian Vanguardes that it is breath taking. If you... More

We live in Basel and have been meaning to get to this for ages. Very happy we visited - great for the whole family. The #6 tram stops directly in front of the museum which makes is easy for travel. Also, we had coffee in the cafe - pretty, old separate building. It isn't a huge museum, so with coffee... More

Last February, I had the pleasure to visit the Paul Gauguin exhibition. It was great to see paintings I have studied, specially the ones from the Tahiti period. His masterpieces navigate between nature and eroticism, beautiful landscapes from the Mars du Sud, and also wooden sculptures, everything very unique and evoquing the concept of primitivism. It was a delightful visit.... More
