It would be worth visiting just to see Monet's water lilies with the water lilies in the pond outside the window, but many other curated special exhibitions as well as the remainder of the standing exhibitions are wonderful!!!

Went to see the Gauguin exhibit which runs thru June 2015 in thei simpressive Renzo Piano museum built to house the impressive collection of the Beyeler famiy, one of the most important and impressive in Europe. Have a walk in the garden as well where you can admire a beautiful Calder or Elswoth Kelly sculpture.

I loved not only the museum - although the art is formidable, and they also had a Gauguin exhibition (I believe it goes until June - http://www.fondationbeyeler.ch/en/Home) - but also the surroundings, and the park. The entrace is a bit pricey - 27E, but it is worth. You can walk around pretty much anywhere in Riehen, and you can catch... More

Went to see Paul Gauguin Exhibition recently and enjoyed every second, the building is great for art exhibitions and you simply have to pay it a visit... Right now there's also art from Peter Doig which was absolutely amazing...

The Fondation Beyeler Museum is probably the best museum in Switzerland. From the current and absolutely amazing Gauguin exposition to the normal stand by expositions, it has absolutely everything a good museum needs. It is not too big, doesn't have so many pieces of art that it is too much and it is easy accessible by public transport. As I... More

We took the train from Geneva to see the current Gauguin exhibit at the Beyeler Foundation in Basel. From the station take trams 2 and 6. Early in the morning and late afternoon the 2 goes all the way to the museum. The exhibit is beautiful. Large spaces with beautiful light make the paintings come alive. The Tahiti period is... More

Take the tram 6 from "Schiffslände" - it will bring you directly to the museum. Until June, they host the Gauguin exposition, with world famous pöictures and some sculptures of this artist. Unlike museums in Berlin or News York, you won't have to wait in a crowd for hours! The entrance fee is ok (28 SFR)
