My wife and I enjoyed very much the fantastic Kazimir Malevich Exhibition "In Search of 0,10 - The Last Futurist Exhibition of Painting" which was one of our top three art exhibitions of 2015. There are many art works on display that are probably never been shown again in the near future. Exactly 100 years ago, in the winter of... More

The permanent collection is one of the most prestegious for hundreds of miles around. I loved the Picasso's Rape of the Sabines. The grounds around are very pleasant and there is a decent restaurant which is affordable.

Fondation Beyeler has twice a year a new exhibition from international artists like Dali, Ferdinand Hodler, Max Ernst, Gerhard Richter, Paul Gauguin... I live in Basel since five years and going so far I have visited nearly every exhibition during the last five years. The location itself is excellent, surrounded in a quite park where you can relax. You should... More

Knowing that there was no special exhibition, we nevertheless thought that the permanent collection would be worthwhile a visit. We did enjoy works by Paul Cézanne, Paul Klee, Piet Mondrian, Jean Tinguely, and Vincent Van Gogh but there were very few of them and the works by the other painters/artists were not to our liking. In fact there ware very... More

My wife and I visit museums and arts exhibitions regularly. We just had the pleasure to see the Marlene Dumas exhibition at the Fondation Beyeler. The setting, the light, the surrounding are extremely beautiful. We had seen the same exhibition at the Tate Modern in London but in this beautiful setting and with the extreme care which is give to... More

They are currently remodeling a large section of the museum. There is little to see, and at standard prices is really a rip-off. They should be ashamed!

Great gallery - if pricey even by Swiss standards - and easy to get to by tram. Lovely building and grounds and a wonderful permanent collection, only a fraction of which can be seen at any one time. Whether you visit will probably depend on what the current special exhibition is.

I visited this museum mainly to see the Marlene Dumas exhibition which was excellent. The one aspect that stands out is the use of natural light. It was a very wet dull day but the light was so well used that all paintings and exhibits were displayed to their full potential.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Great collection. Lovely space in which to view the art. Lovely grounds. Quite pricey though.

I frequently visit the Fondation Beyeler for the art exhibitions which must rank with the best in the world. The architecture by Renzo Piano and its setting is beautiful.
