Discover Blair Castle and go on a journey into the fascinating past of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl. Unique amongst Scottish castles, the story here leads you from Mary Queen of Scot's visit to the Civil War, and from the Jacobite cause to Queen Victoria's famous stay which led to the creation of Europe's only surviving private army, the Atholl Highlanders. Over 700 years of Scottish history are on display across 30 rooms. Highlights of the castle tour include the Baronial Entrance Hall, featuring weapons used at the Battle of Culloden; the classic Georgian styling of the Picture Staircase; the grandeur of the State Dining Room and Drawing Room; and the magnificent Ballroom, bedecked in hundreds of antlers. The Castle sits at the hub of a breathtaking historic landscape and the gardens and grounds feature a 9 acre walled garden, a peaceful wooded grove, a ruined kirk, a red deer park and a whimsical Gothic folly.

We loved wandering around the beautiful gardens and hotel. Well worth seeing. The staff were very nice and helpful, very friendly. We were actually staying on the caravan site in the grounds of Blair Atholl Castle and it was the best kept caravan site I have ever visited. The amenities are first class, from having water taps and drains next... More

The Herculese Garden is so tranquil that if the feeling could be bottled??? There are amazing Japanes embroideries hidden in the dark corridor near the cafe toilets. There are so many treasures to see inside the castle that 3 hours are needed to see everyithing. 1 or 2 hours outdoors

How I wish I'd allowed more time for my visit and had someone to share it with. Blair is a lovely typical Scottish castle with an imposing look and in a fabulous forest setting. There is something of interest in every room and the guides are friendly and helpful. There is a real sense of what life was like for... More

This castle was our favorite of all we visited. The castle is well kept with many rooms to walk through and view. The tour is well laid out with alot to see. One highlight was the playing of the bagpipes in front of the castle. He was fantastic. We had lunch in the cafe and the food was very good... More

Drving up to the castle and then walking across the gardens to get to the castle. Seeing all the rooms furnished...nice change from seeing empty castle ruins!

We spent an enjoyable several hours at historic Blair Castle and the surrounding gardens and woods. The artistry on display in the rooms is mind-boggling, from the ornate plasterwork in the dining room to the incredibly fine needlework made long ago by the ladies of the castle. The folks who work there are extremely knowledgeable and personable, and a kilted... More

Beautiful fairy tale castle that was nice going through. The Swans in the Garden are mean though so watch out for them. Mark is a wonderful guide and he seems to pop up often since he now about secret passageways. Ian by the gate was very cheerful and I thank him for that.

Lovely castle with beautiful gardens, quite good value for money. We used the local bus service to get there from Pitlochry.

I dropped my wife off to see the house and gardens while I went walking up Glen Tilt. Looking at the receipt later we discovered I had been charged for visiting the grounds. I believe my wife otherwise enjoyed the experience.

Lots of viewing rooms, with detailed family history relating to different parts of the castle. Good resturant, baked poatoes are good value. Admission price quite steep, but generally good day out.
