Discover Blair Castle and go on a journey into the fascinating past of...

Discover Blair Castle and go on a journey into the fascinating past of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl. Unique amongst Scottish castles, the story here leads you from Mary Queen of Scot's visit to the Civil War, and from the Jacobite cause to Queen Victoria's famous stay which led to the creation of Europe's only surviving private army, the Atholl Highlanders. Over 700 years of Scottish history are on display across 30 rooms. Highlights of the castle tour include the Baronial Entrance Hall, featuring weapons used at the Battle of Culloden; the classic Georgian styling of the Picture Staircase; the grandeur of the State Dining Room and Drawing Room; and the magnificent Ballroom, bedecked in hundreds of antlers. The Castle sits at the hub of a breathtaking historic landscape and the gardens and grounds feature a 9 acre walled garden, a peaceful wooded grove, a ruined kirk, a red deer park and a whimsical Gothic folly.

Wonderful Castle and Grounds

We spent a few ours at Blair, the tour was informative and the castle had some amazing pieces to view. Overall, a really nice addition to our castle touring.

Enjoyed the drive to the castle and took a brief look around, but it was worth a stop on a spin around the highlands.

Enjoyed our visit to Blair Castle and the guide was very informative and helpful...We were informed about the choice to walk around or watch a DVD and stay on the ground floor....We ended up going in the adjoining restaurant which was very modern and relaxing...

We visited Blair Atholl Castle by way of a tour organised by Lochs and Glens. A warm Welcome was made by the guide and included a wee dram which was most welcome on a cold day. The castle tour follows a pre defined route to ensure that nothing is missed. There is a magnificent collection of ancient weapons and heraldry... More

We recently went to Blair castle. What a lovely castle to visit. It was all very interesting looking at the furniture , especially the four poster beds. The ballroom was beautiful with a lovely log fire warming the whole room. In fact the whole castle was vey warm. It's well worth a visit.

We visited this attraction as part of a group tour. We were taken care of well, although there's not much to take care of. Perhaps after being on tour for a number of days, your standards raise. This attraction is large, intricate and includes many small things that may be of interest. Certainly it's historic significance is a draw. Perhaps... More

We spent over 2 hours touring the castle, and we thoroughly enjoyed it, tourists follow a planned route before arriving at the cafe and tourist shop; they also have their own pipers playing.

You have to go and see it for yourself! We did not do the castle, but we spend our time walking in around the gardens and woods. It was very beautiful and enjoyable walk around the place.
