We spent an interesting time looking round the castle, but the Gardens were very impressive with the lake and walled garden plants. There is an excellent Cafe also.

The sheer grandeur of this place is hard to take in and when you consider it dates back to the Georgin times and you can experience it as it was back then. The size of the Castle will have you wondering as you walk round all the various rooms. You end up in the big main room of the Castle...

I could have visited this estate every day. I went pony trekking with Debbie costing £28 for the hour. You are paired with a beautiful Highland Pony and given good quality equipment and trek across the vast and beautiful estate for an hour.

There are plenty of staff around the castle who are very knowledgeable so you can tour individually asking questions when you need, without being hurded round on a guided tour.
The cafe is superb and...

I had booked the Attic tour, more on this later, so spend the first couple of hours exploring the house / castle itself. I have too say all the staff were very friendly and so helpful. The 30 or so...

But disappointed with the reality, a little shabby throughout and it appears the whole building (on view) requires a considerable amount of time & money in refurbishment. It struck both of us that we were just token visitors -...
