The castle of Rasnov is easier to access than it looks like. You have a small train on wheels or you go by walk (15 minutes from the car park). Inside it looks like an old village and the view is really amazing.

We enjoyed our tour of this fabulous fortress. There is a reasonable fee. Once inside, it was a fun little village of shops and some people in period clothing. There was even a bride and groom getting pictures taken! At one point, i heard an accordion playing so i followed the music. It was blocked off for getting to the... More

I visited Rasnov on a chilly but snow-free winter's day with a friend, and we were the only visitors. The castle looks over the town of Rasnov and the surrounding plains and has a truly spectacular view. Although much of the citadel is in ruins there is still a collection of medieval buildings clustered inside the castle walls. Feels more... More

We were there with our youth kids and really enjoyed the visit. The place is magic and the atmosphere is bringing you to that period. There are a lot of very welled preserved little streets and small houses , very nice shops and activities to do with kids. The sellers in shops are speaking English and helpful, also the prices... This is a great place of history. You can walk through the citadel, all the way up and see the beautiful views of the surrounding cities! It's definitely a great place to see! There are little shops for drinks and for souvenirs of course! This was known as the Rose city.

We went to Brasov to see Castelul Bran, but we also heard about Rasnov Citadel (or Castle, as some translations use). We were told to take a local bus there and walk up from the town. What a great walk and a great citadel! It was a lovely surprise to find such a well positioned citadel in such good condition.... More

I really enjoyed this semi-ruined hill fort. It was cool to see a small town inside a fort at the top of a large steep hill. The views from up here were also amazing. There was some kitch, with several stores in restored buildings and one re-enactor in a couple stores but it was worth it. Further when we visited... More

The ruins of the castle very well preserved. Beautiful view of the town below and the mountains. Cheap tickets, souvenir shops. You can shoot with a bow or abandon sports ax. To do and see, because the castle is more intimate than that found in Bran.
