My husband loves snorkeling and says this was the best snorkeling on our Western Caribbean cruise in December 2014. We originally thought we would take the bus to West End and then a water taxi to West Bay. Instead we decided to share a taxi with four others at $15/pp round trip with the driver staying with us the entire... More

A beautiful little beach with great resorts and accommodation rentals from condos, apts., to houses. Lots of water sports including many excellent dive shops. I wouldn't get an all inclusive here, too many good bars and restaurants to try. Little mall close by for any purchases and a short water taxi ride to West End. West End is more popular... More

Clean, nice beach. Too many people pestering you to buy things, get massages, braid hair, etc. gets a bit annoying.

We visited last month November. The beach is very pretty, it's clean and free of sea grass. The water is warm and when the water is calm it's easy to swim in. There are many restaurants and bars up and down the beach. You can rent chairs by bananrama. The only downside is the constant vendors. They are so pushy... More

We had doubts about the weather on arrival so we exited the boat and spoke to the vendors outside the port entrance. We dealt with South Shore (which was on the left in the second booth), where we were promised to be transported to a nice beach with a complimentary chair and access to bathrooms. Snorkel equipment would be available... More

Had a rather rainy day but went anyway. The beach was not as nice, or a big as many of the other Islands. Our chairs were set out and then were hit with a line of people trying to sell things. We finally left our chairs and sat at tables under the tiki huts. The had Wifi for a $5... More

The day we visited West Bay Beach, it was overcast & rainy. However, you could still see the beauty of the beach! The locals were very nice & friendly. Due to the swells we didn't swim, however, we still enjoyed a lovely day.

Small bay with beautiful water. Warm and safe. Great snorkeling. Just drove up and parked by the beach. Lots of little shops and restaurants. Somewhat persistent beach vendors. Felt like we were away from the cruise ship crowd.

West Bay is a fairly small but beautiful beach on the bottom of the island of Roatan. A taxi ride from West End to West Bay cost $10, but you can negotiate down to $7-$8 if you play your cards right. This is a public beach, so don't let anyone try to steer you towards a "day pass" at a... More

Beautiful views, even this shark phobic individual felt safe enough to go in up to my waist! The water was crystal clear and beautiful shades of blue and green.Spectacular!
