Awesome sand, calm waters, and a short swim out to some WORLD- CLASS snorkeling. Some local shops and vendors to contend with, but well worth it!

Go to "Beachers" for cheap drinks ( Happy Hour all day long! ). Next door ( don`t remember the name ) $15 dollars lobster plate. When you comsume at any of these places you have the right to use the beach chairs for free instead of paying the $10 dollars they will charge you elsewere.

If you go to the east end of the West bay beach you will find fantastic snorkeling reefs!! A bit expensive for food, but I guess this is to be expected for an island. The sun is so intense that it is hard to find anything to do outside during the day other than being in the water.

The snorkeling near the rock cliff and out at the large rock is very good. The water is beautiful. It is crowded even on non-cruise days. There are vendors who ask you to buy things but they aren't too pushy. A hotel let us use their chairs as long as we bought a drink from them. There are water sports... More

Really not much to say about West Bay Beach other than stay away! The hawkers, beach masseurs, and crowds are enough to make any real traveler run away screaming. Just felt filthy walking from the car park to the restaurant, after getting nearly hijacked for parking by an elderly local who also tried to hit us up on the way... More

This is a fantastic beach. The water taxi's are fun and worth it. We liked being on the laid back beach, but the simple ability to go to West End quickly and easily. Looking forward to the next trip!

The beaches were flat and crystal clear. The sand was soft and cool to your feet. The only down side we found was the constant peddlers on the beach selling what they could. If your willing to say "no thank you" about a hundred times in the day, you'll be fine. But the location itself is beautiful!!

Beautiful beach pristine water, great snorkeling and lively atmosphere. We spent a few days on Roatan and while the rest of my family were off diving I took a trip by water taxi $3 to West Bay Beach. The dive centre recommended I try The Beaches Bar. she said it was run by two local guys. I have to say... More

walk right out of your hotel to the white sand beach and from there drift off to the reef. gorgeous. One set back however, is that the area is overrun with tourists and locals targeting tourists. no culture, just a scene of what it looks like when a local community wants to try and please a tourist community. its nice... Of the many places in the Caribbean I have dived/snorkeled, this is absolutely the crown jewel. I have snorkeled the West Bay twice: Once right after I ruptured an eardrum and thus could not scuba, and the next when I chose to snorkel rather than dive because the reefs are so beautiful, colorful and abundant with sea life close to...
