We were charged $ 100 for boat ride which was not that great . Mangroves were not shown every opportunity some person was trying to force things such as baby monkey for 500 sl rs. Alligator for 500 sl rs. Etc. Don't get ripped off. We lodged a complain with our agent but was too little too late

We made this trip because I wanted to see the mangroves, even though we felt it was another tourist trap, but please don't go there! You won't miss anything but the money you gave for nothing... They tell you it's 1h30 boat ride, actually it lasts hardly 1 h. They tell you you'll see mangroves, actually you'll see the mangroves... More

This is a lovely boat ride along the Madu River about 10 mins away from the Heritance Ahungalla hotel. They go through mangroves along the river and go around several mini islands. The boat I recommend is handled by Ajith who works for Jayantha Boat Service. His number is 0723000109. Call him to arrange the time. The boat we took... More

There is Captain's place near the Madu river. They provide various sizes of boats for boat rides. For a small boat(about 9 people) it takes about Rs.2000. That's a very reasonable price. We were able to go about 2 hours safe boat trip. Can see a lot of nature here. And you can get a fish foot therapy here for Rs.200. It... More

We bought a day package in Hikkaduwa for the equivalent of £10.50 per person. This included stop-offs at the tsunami memorials, a trip to a moonstone mine, this nearly 2 hour boat trip, a trip to a sea turtle sanctuary, a spice farm, and to the tsunami photo museum. It was a bargain day out. The boat trip was great... More

We were there yesterday. Upon our arrival to Bentota. We took a river trip between the islands in this beautiful peaceful place. The Fish-Foot massage was definitely different experience. The cinnamon island was nice too. The sunset was a beautiful capture. Love it... ❤️
