Olden is one of my favourite places in Norway, it is quiet, tranquil and exceptionally clean, the people are very friendly and all in all you will feel at home. There are some places to eat and drink but as with all of Norway it can be costly. Little land trains run into the village centre from the port and... More

Visited here for the day on a cruise and was by far the most beautiful location. There is a great scenic walk along the main road and a little train to view the river and go around the village. There is not a great amount to do but would recommend hiring a bike (if weather permitting). This can be done... More

Olden is very delightful village set in green meadows that are ablaze with colourful flowers and babbling brooks meander between pretty houses the Olden valley is flanked by near vertical cliffs about 1700m high and sparkling glaciers 1500m up the valley is the Lokenfossen Waterfall.

Another fjord another village. Visited by cruise ship and found that this was a lovely little place. Many opportunities to buy souvenirs from the quayside stalls where the ship docks. There is a Tour office right by the exit point when exiting the ship. Had a lovely coach tour to the Kjenndalen Glacier behind the immediate hills of the Fjord.... More

One thing's for sure - Norway knows how to do Fjords and wonderful scenery! Olden is in a lovely setting and although it's not large place, it has lots of character. We visited on a cruise liner and thoroughly enjoyed the small scenic train ride around Olden which was great - definitely a good way to see the local area.... More

We stopped at Olden on the Caribbean Princess and took the miniature road train around the lakes which cost £15 each. It was a good way to see the beautiful scenery and the train made several stops to allow us to take photographs. There is also a glacier express bus if you want to go to the top and take... More

There is not much to see at the dock apart from the tourist shops and a tourist information office (which is really a sales office) at the port. We hired a car from Hertz in Stryn (contact Peter directly and he will bring the car to you for a small adiitional fee). The tourist office did have one car available... More

On a cruise the ship arrived early in the morning which provided the opportunity ( challenge) of getting up at first light to take in the wonders of the Fjord as ship covered around 60 miles of water. Fantastic views. Olden is small but picturesque so we had planned a visit across the lake nearby and then taking in the... More

Narrow valley, amazing water color, waterfalls, glacier... Quite a package. Quite a few hiking options, from easy stroll to serious mountaineering
