Like many other reviews we arrived here on a cruise and the last few miles down the fjord prepared us for what was a magical location with a tranquility about it that was tangible. Olden itself is very small but Stryn, not so far away has much more in the way of civilisation, shops etc. however, for calm and quiet... More

We visited Olden as part of our Norway cruise with P & O. We were very lucky that the weather was beautiful on the day we visited. We hired bicycles on the quayside for about £30 for 2 bikes for 4 hours. We cycled out towards the glacier which was a breathtaking ride, one of those experiences where you just... More

A charming village amidst breathtaking scenery. As we departed, Rod Stewart's 'Sailing' was being blasted out from the shore and the locals came out to wave us off with their flags. It was our first experience of cruising and quite emotional. Thank you Olden.

We did a Norwegian and Iceland cruise. Breathtaking scenery everywhere. But there is something special about Olden. Only a couple of hundred people live here and it is so peaceful and stunningly beautiful. Take a coach ride to the beginning of the walk to Briksdal Glacier and then do the 2 mile hike to the glacier. The river, the waterfall,... More

very picturesque village. Very clean. A visit to the 2 churches are a must. Lots of wooden painted houses with mountains climbing up on both sides.

A Norwegian cruise - incredible . But without a doubt Olden shot to the top of my list of places visited - anywhere not just the cruise. The scenery , especially as we were fortunate enough to have glorious sunshine, was amazing. The colour of the water, the waterfalls, the walk to the glacier unforgettable. If you get the chance... Very small village amid beautiful scenery. The air is so clean after congested cities. Excursions to glaciers & national park a must.

Stopped off at Olden which is a small village at the head of a fjord, pleasant countryside & scenery & tours available from the dockside on an open top double decker bus around the nearby lakes etc. do not book it on the ship it's £20 cheaper to book on the bus.

Olden was our first port of call on our 2 week cruise of the fjords. It was stunning. If you ever need to chill out take this cruise. Olden was the most welcoming place I have ever been. The scenery and the walks are breathtaking. Well worth a visit

Our experience staying at this hotel was nothing but terrible. I reserved a standard room for my partner and I through booking.com. Upon check-out, the hotel insisted on charging an extra fee of 45 Euros or so for the second person. And they never said anything about us being 2 in the room at check-in! Don't fall into this trap.... More
