My wife and I did a 2 tank dive with these folks a couple weeks ago and it was great. Good boat, dive briefing, nice and relaxed atmosphere. We had some great diving conditions and were fortunate enough to see a whale shark and frog fish along with all the other usual suspects. As we are also both dive instructors... More

(I posted the same review on Undercurrent.) Our family took the standard three-day, nine-dive trip to Coiba Island, through Scuba Coiba. Prices and services seemed indistinguishable from Coiba Dive Center, the other operator catering to multi-day trips, but Herbie at Scuba Coiba answered our emails more quickly, and we were certainly happy with the operation. Coiba Island was an add-on... More

I took a three day/two night diving trip on Coiba Island. The dive was very good with a lot of fish, abundance of sharks as well as turtles, barracuda and a couple of frog fish. The best about the trip was however the service of Scuba Coiba. From the easy communication with Herbie to the preparation and gear check at... More

First, I have to agree with a large amount of what GB_williams wrote for his review "The good and bad." He gave a great description of the multi-day trip. I also have a hard time writing this review because I enjoyed so much of the experience and the people were lovely. But its a unique adventure going to this very... More

My daughter was in the Peace Corps in Panama and wanted to have a superior dive experience so upon my visit to Panama to see her, we planned a trip to Coiba. After researching dive sites online, we chose Herbie at Scuba Coiba because of his years experience and expertise in diving the rough Pacific. We emailed back and forth... More

My family and I did the Discover Scuba Course and it was a terrific experience. Our guide Cedric was very nice and helpful, and he taught us all we needed to know to feel safe underneath the water for the first time. We did two dives and saw plenty of fish, eels, rays, and sharks. I would recommend Scuba Coiba... More

The man in charge, Nick, told us after we payed that the divers have preority and when you go for snorkling your are 'lucky' that you can join. On the boat we saw an whale and that was pretty amazing. But when we arrived at Coiba National Park, all the attention went to the divers. Nick was busy with 8... More

We are sorry to hear, that you have been disappointed and gave only 2 out of 5 points. Asking the people on the trip and dive instructor Nik, you seemed to be pleased and did not mention anything you did not like on or after the trip. But, yes, you are right, we are a dive center, we cater mainly... More

Me and my girlfriend went on a 4 multiday trip with Scuba Coiba on June 15th. First of all, the diving was amazing. Huge schools of fish, lots of sharks, rays, turtles, seahorses, frogfish, octopus and so on. The accomodation was nice and clean, with A/C and private bathrooms in each dorm. Coiba is such a beautiful place, with plenty... More

Coiba is definitely a wonderful place for diving: we saw large schools of fish, sharks and turtles. The staff is nice. However I don't recommend diving with Scuba Coiba, because of the old equipment and a lack of safety awareness.

I’ve had a hard writing this review. I don’t like saying bad things about good people, and Herbie Sunk, who operates Scuba Coiba is definitely good people. Unlike the management of many Panamanian operations, Hebie was very responsive to emails and sent us a lot of information that was valuable in making the trip more enjoyable. He also made an...
