Description: Jost Vineyards is situated on over 100 acres by the beautiful North Shores...
Jost Vineyards is situated on over 100 acres by the beautiful North Shores Sunrise Trail. With the largest and longest operating winery in the Atlantic region, the Jost family pioneered the industry, supporting the majority of today's independent vineyard operations. Their estate bottled whites, reds and specialties are lovingly crafted in the cellars and are available for sampling, sale and shipping from the winery store. Hike, bike and picnic with spectacular vistas of the vineyards and beautiful beaches of the Northumberland coastline. The area enjoys a mezzo climate with more days of sun than anywhere else in Atlantic Canada. Enjoy local cheeses with a perfectly paired wine on the licensed terrace and take a vineyard tour. If you are not able to make the drive, Jost wines can be discovered at most local restaurants, liquor stores and your favorite neighbors back deck.

Lovely Winery

Beautiful Winery. Tasting room is gorgeous. Very knowledgable staff. We had our first taste of their wine at a restaurant in Halifax. I would like to try their restaurant.

We had family from out of Province and they specifically wanted to go to Jost Winery. There website says the tour is free and we were charged 5.00 per person(which we did not mind at all) and then the tour by a young lady was only 20mins. and we did not learn anything at all. She actually said please don't... More

This place has a gorgeous tasting room with lots of people eating in the cafe. After a 2 hour one way detour on our way to PEI after visiting 8 vineyards we were looking forward to this one the most. We came in were not greeted. It took 15 min for me to finally get someone's attention and were told... More

I have heard of Jost Vineyards before, but this is our first visit. We really enjoy our wine tour and learn a lot from Kevin. He is very friendly and knowledge person. The vineyard is huge and well-maintained. They have great selection of wines, especially wines from NS and other local wines. The wine tasting experience is great, too! We... More

The Devonian Coast Wineries family includes Jost, Gaspereau, and our newest, Mercator Vineyards. We offer product from each of the wineries onsite permitting our visitors to explore each of our vineyards. A great example of this is with our Tidal Bay flight. Tidal Bay, the Appellation wine of Nova Scotia, has characteristics that Nova Scotia white wine is known for... More

Jost vineyards, a great place to visit with beautiful grounds, good and reasonable wines, esp with the Us dollar making the exchange better for us. . WE had a lovely young lady for our tastings which were all rather good, bought a bottle to take with us. They use all screw tops which is so convenient for traveling, not cork... More

Screw caps are always convenient when travelling but that is not the only expediency, winemakers tend to use them because it keeps the bottle sealed and does not allow oxygen to enter ensuring the wine remains well-preserved. I am glad you enjoyed your excursion and look forward to your next visit & review on the SeaGrape Cafe. Cheers! More

Haven't been here since it has switched owners until now. It had been refurbished with attractive displays and a bar in the middle for taste testing and a sitting area on one side. There was a bridal shower going on outside with the ladies enjoying with wine which I'm sure was fun and beautiful right at the vineyard. Was unsure... More

There are a lot of long, winding roads to get to the winery - but it is well worth it! We were determined! The women on staff were very friendly and helpful (even gave us great, detailed and easy directions to Halifax). We sampled several wines (quite a variety) - even maple wine and ice wines. They have a beautiful... More

I am glad you took advantage of our "ship anywhere" policy. The owners travel often and have had wine shipped to them from all over the world and they wanted our visitors to be able to do the same. It is always nice to bring a little part of your vacation home with you. Enjoy your wine, and hope you... More

This is a small vineyard in Malagash Nova Scotia that boasts some terrific wines. I like the Jost Pino Grigo or the Contessa wines. Both of these are white. I have not tried the red but have it on good authority that it is very good as well. The vineyard will provide you a sample to taste. There are very... More

Thank you for your review. This year we received exciting news from the LCBO and they have purchased our Tidal Bay and Maple Wine. I think you would enjoy the Tidal Bay and the Maple Wine is a great substitute for dessert (or drizzled on vanilla ice cream), especially when you have guests. The next time you are at your... More
