Brilliant film in the most unique and beautiful Art Deco surroundings. Once you have visited the Rex you will never want to see a film in any other venue. The most comfortable seats either upstairs or downstairs and a bar to keep you happy!

I was taken here by my daughter who promised me something different. She was right. What an interesting place! We were at the tables on the lower floor with lovely comfy seats. I am recovering from a leg problem and needed to have it supported staff very kindly found me something to rest my leg on. Service with a smile... More

I have visited the cinema on a number of occasions, and found it a delightful experience, especially with the possibility to take drinks and snacks to your seat. The introduction by Berko's Barry Norman considerably adds to the occasion, and the showing of the film was great. Unfortunately our tickets were for the back row of the gallery which we... More

What an evening !! The cinema is just beautiful and smart and friendly . It doesn't matter what film you see it's just a great evening out . Get yourself a glass of beer , wine etc or a bottle ! Sit down in your allocated seat for a chat then watch a film in the most comfortable seats ever... More

We went to see Selma with another couple. What a revelation this picture house was! Beautiful plush interior, private tables, quirky host, a nice bottle of red and a cheese platter. And the film was good too. It's a gem. Beg borrow or steal some tickets!

Lovely 'authentic' Gatsby style setting. The waiting staff are very helpful and attentive. The cocktails are wonderful, well presented and mixed to perfection. We had a couple of bar snacks, prawns and dish cakes. Yumm. Would recommend a visit or two or three

I am a big fan of independent cinemas and have to say the REX is a real breathe of fresh air. A step back into the fashionable 30's.. I would recommend a seat at the front on the tables. Each table comes with large red seats which sets a royal atmosphere.. Warm, welcoming staff and particularly liked the way they... More

We go to the Rex a lot, and it is always fabulous. Tonight the film was brilliant, with added comfort, Crabbies and cheese, it really can not be beaten for a great night out.

There can be nothing bad to say about The Rex - apart from the problem of getting tickets - and that is only because it is so good that most days sell out straight away! But maybe the best thing is this - they have special showings for people with babies. Yes, they are noisy and a touch chaotic, but... More

Enjoy every visit to the Rex - classy cinema, comfortable seats, opportunity to sit at table with bar in background. No horrible smell of popcorn and gallons of Coke! Love getting current films as well as old classics and foreign language films.
