This restored Art Deco cinema is an asset to Berkhamsted. It provides a very comfortable venue to view films, if you can get tickets. Popular films are sold out almost as soon as they go on sale!

We have been twice now as a family of 7! Both times to see a Christmas family movie. This year we saw Paddington Bear. The start of the film was delayed for 10 mins to ensure everyone had arrived , a nice touch. After a little speech from the owner we enjoyed a lovely experience. A standard I could get... More

A landmark Art Deco Cinema building near to the centre of Bekhamsted, with a comfortable dining area off the foyer, serving both light lunches and full menu meals. Very good quality food and excellent service.

We visited The Rex for a special screening of "It's a wonderful life' on Christmas Eve. We were treated to a choir performance beforehand and then a personal thanks and introduction to the audience from the cinemas owner. The atmosphere was amazing, such a beautiful building and great service to go with it. We came out feeling full of festive... More

We have been fans of the Rex for years. Beautiful place, comfortable and roomy. Pleasant helpful staff. Wish the ads and trailers weren't SO long. Also if James must go on stage before the main attraction, tell him to keep it short, prepare it properly and STOP wittering

What is not to like? Huge comfortable seats with oodles of leg room, cheese platters served to your seat, a nice bar and comfy cushions to pad your back. You can't keep me away and it doesn't really matter what film is showing!

The Rex is the best cinema experience ever! Magnificently restored to its Art Deco glory,a true 'labour of love'. The staff are pleasant, the seats are very comfy, and it is nice to be able to take a drink into the auditorium in a proper glass. Generally it is quiet during the films, so altogether makes going to see a... More

Such a warm and cosy cinema, luxury seating and very relaxed. Have sat up and down but think I prefer done with the swivel comfy chairs and a table for your drink. Highly recommended. Just don't get too cosy that you doze off!!!

A beautifully restored 1930's Art Deco cinema which I feel privileged to visit on a regular basis. Upstairs you'll find a traditional cinema layout, but the seats are wide and there's plenty of leg room in all the rows apart from the one at the very back. Downstairs there are small tables and chairs rather than rows of seats. There... More

This is a beautiful cinema. A beautifully restored Art Deco 1930s original. Really comfortable seating. Can take drinks in in proper glasses. Friendly atmosphere.
