There can be nothing bad to say about The Rex - apart from the problem of getting tickets - and that is only because it is so good that most days sell out straight away! But maybe the best thing is this - they have special showings for people with babies. Yes, they are noisy and a touch chaotic, but... More

Enjoy every visit to the Rex - classy cinema, comfortable seats, opportunity to sit at table with bar in background. No horrible smell of popcorn and gallons of Coke! Love getting current films as well as old classics and foreign language films.

The Rex is a wonderful cinema. Firstly because of it's style and comfort. Secondly because of the eclectic mix of films it shows. Everything from the current Hollywood blockbusters to interesting low budget films from around the world. The only problem is getting tickets!

Just the most delightful and civilized experience. You will never visit a multiplex again. Cinema going as it should be.

We were wowed by this impressive cinema. The whole experience beginning to end was wonderful. This place really works on the experience of cinema with massive very comfortable seats, a very welcoming bar on entry not to mention the decor. We will be back if we can manage to get our hands on any tickets again.

My daughter bought tickets for The Rex and took us there during our recent visit. We were able to park close by - perhaps because she knows the area well - only a couple of minutes walk from this beautifully restored Art Deco cinema. We were downstairs where comfortable swivel chairs are arranged around small tables and the bar serves... More

Going through the reviews it seems that some people have difficulty getting tickets. This was not so in our case - our difficulty was parking despite arriving half an hour early and driving around in ever increasing circles. We finally managed to park nearly an hour later. Whilst we found a number of spaces they were all limited to one... More

A stunning venue that brings glamour back to the cinema experience. Lovely to sit around the tables, but also comfortable, spacious seats upstairs. Fall in love with the movies again.

Fantastic feeling about the place, right from the way films are introduced by the gentleman who owns it to the olives and other good nibbles you can buy at the bar! Go for lovely big comfy seats , wine and cheese and hopefully a good film :)
