What a treat this place is, no wonder it is so hard to book, go to the cinema here and you will not want to go anywhere else.

Interesting variety of films; good value; pleasant bar (but could do better quality wines); good monthly brochure; interesting introductions by proprietor

Beautiful period cinema decorated in true deco style, sumptious seating and great atmosphere. it's very hard to get tickets unless you are a member or live in the town, though. We booked seats in the front area which are like swivel armchairs, grouped around little tables with red lamps on them. You can order food or nibbles to eat while... More

get a table, have a drink, what an experience! Really great as a different cinema experience, tricky to get tickets though!

What a beautiful cinema, really comfortable seating and do ask for a 'table' which creates a really created ambience, somewhere to put your beer or bottle of wine and plate of cheese and biscuits! A really super experience- which could only be enhanced by having more showings of current films- so we can get a table!

Clearly we liked this place. From staff to excellent seats and environment, this is the place to go and watch a flick. the Rex cinema is great for a bit of cinematic culture. Combined with drinks and food at the Gatsby downstairs, a lovely experience.

beautiful surroundings and supremely comfortable. Perfect setting to watch a movie. It is a treat to visit the Rex. I have watched movies here in every category of seating, all are perfect. The clinking of the wine glasses and the popping of corks adds to the atmosphere when you sit at one of the front tables. I love this place!... More

This beautifully restored cinema of the 1930s is a must if yuou spend time in historic Berklhamsted. Nearly always sold out, even at afternoon matinees, if you can, don't just book a seat, book a table for up to 4 people. Then you can watch the film while enjoying a bottle of wine. A truly cinematic experience far from the... More

I love this cinema, its beautiful inside, the seating is great and a visit there feels special, compared to any other regular cinema. my main complaint though is that its so hard to get hold of tickets. the phone line always seem to be busy! also ticket s seem to sell out really quickly, especially for evening showings.. they would...
