We've been on a tour in mid-March. During few hours we saw 4 whales, which unfortunatly weren'y jumping, but one of them approached our ship extremely close (like a few meters away) and that was amazing. We also observed mother with a youngster, which were on the surface of water for quite a long time. If you come to the... More

Kim is great and very knowledgeable. We saw some whales, but only the back fins. It wasn't crowed, so we could wander around the boat. However, about a half to a third of the people on the boat got seasick. I am glad I did it. I just wish we saw more of the whale. More

My sister and I did the whale watch tour through Whale Samana the third week in March. We were picked up by Kim Beddall and her crew on the Pura Mia at the Cayo Levantado public dock. The boat is 55 feet long with plenty of room to move around and good views from every seat. There are washroom facilities... More

My wife and I took the 1:30pm tour on 1 March 12. Approximately 30 people on the tour. About 3 hrs. dock to dock. Very knowledgeable and caring guides. Information given in 4 languages on our tour. They provide dramamine, drinks, snacks and wonderful time out on the water. We followed (at a proper distance) a pair of whales for... More

We went out for a tour with Kim on February 22, 2012 and had a great time! We were picked up at Cayo Levantado at 9:30 in the am and boarded the Pura Mia to start our whale watching adventure. The boat was full, but not overly so and we had plenty of room to move around & see the... More

-Boat ride is over 2 hours (it depends on the whales location...) -Remember that you are going to visit where these whales live and procreate (not a zoo or circus) -TAKE THE DRAMAMINE... dont trust your boat experience the waters can be choppy and the ride rough so take the pills they offer. -The tour we went on were very... This was really one of the things I was looking most to on travelling to Samana and I was very disappointed. We went on the 1:30 trip on 2/21. Since we were being picked up last at Cayo Levantado virtually all good seating was gone but we made do with finding adequate seating on the lower level. The boat seemed... More

This was definitely one the best parts of our trip to Samana, DR. We went with Kim Bedall. She is the pioneer of the whale watching in Samana. She knows her stuff too. Got to spend time with two humpbacks and watch then display their pectoral fins, see them spouting, and get to see tail shots too. Would definitely love... More

I came to this place for reference from a friend, and with a lot of good expectations, however I must say this exceeded them all. The owner Kim Beddal, is not only a Marine Mammal Specialist but her charm and knowledge and ways with people are unbelievable . The boat is the best and safest you can find at the... More
