This site is well worth a visit. After parking the car you walk along a vine covered walkway until you reach the the visitors centre. Here you are greeted and asked which tour you wish to do, Newgrange and/or Knowth. You are advised that both tours will take 3 hours. You are then bused to one tour and then returned... More

The Newgrange monument complex is well worth a visit! Complex burial and ceremony sites that are older than the Pyramids. The Knowth passage tombs site is mind boggling in terms of Neolithic art and illustration of the sophistication of this early people in Ireland. The visitor center has excellent exhibits and the café is perfect for a delicious meal or... More

Easy to get too in Meath, Ireland, as you first park at the visitor centre. This is well designed and gives you a good idea of what was going on in and around the main attraction. When you are finished in the centre you are taken by free bus on the short journey to Newgrange proper. There you are brought... More

I dare you to go in and come out of the belly of the hill and not in some sense feel reborn. I never expected to be so moved by a place. I'm a Christian, but this is clearly holy ground. I highly recommend it.

This is a site that predates the pyramids of Egypt! It is quite a special treat to be able to tour these old passage ways. The tours are run very well, the guides are knowledgeable and passionate. I loved every minute of walking the grounds and seeing how the sun goes to the very back of the passage way in... More

This is definitely worth a visit! It is well organized, so you go up to the location by bus and then go inside in small groups with a tour guide. The guide explains everything and points out minor details you might not otherwise independently notice or understand, and answers all of your questions. It was very interesting. I'd recommend going... More

The visitor centre is run professionally and efficiently with great facilities available - local products stalls, tourist shop, café. Visitors are taken by bus to the different sites and guides escort visitors around the mounds. The guides are incredibly passionate in communicating information to visitors - they made the tours memorable. The medieval structures have been returned to their former... More

The whole thing is very well organised, with their buses and such. I found it was one of the most interesting activities we've done in 3 weeks of Ireland. I absolutely loved it. The guides were good. The chauffeurs were good. The people in the visitor center were good. All were very friendly and clear. I'm glad we visited both... More

This neolithic sanctuary/funerary monument (?) has all the mistery and mystic associated with ancient religions and cults. The place is a "must vist" for anyone interested in history and if you are in Dublin, as I was, the best guide you can get is Mary Gibbons from Mary Gibbons Tours. The journey is very pleasant with a visit to the... More
