We visited this sight on our way back to Dublin from touring around the south of Ireland. As we were reaching Dublin earlier than we had planned, and had wanted to view Newgrange, we kept going, as Newgrange is "just up the road from Dublin" The sight is worth every effort to see. We got there in time for the... More

Upon our arrival at the center we were immediately assisted in planning our visit. We visited Knowth and Newgrange. Guides at each site were interesting and informative and funny. Going into the chamber at Newgrange and having the light turned off and then the solstice simulated was an incredible experience.

They run very well organised tours to see inside Newgrange. There's good facilities for families. It's well worth the trip to understand how the ancient inhabitants lived around the area and how advance they are about their surroundings to be able to build something like this to channel in sun light!

Awe inspiring place. They only let about 12 people in at a time and can only spend about 8 minutes inside the tomb before it's time for the next group to come in. I do wish there was a bit more time to really explore the inside instead of standing in the same spot. There is a really cool recreation... More

The tours of Newgrange are well led and informative, the site and surroundings are very intriguing and the location is beautiful. Although you can take as many photos as you like of the exterior they won't let you take any of the interior and I can't understand why. There is a nice gift shop and cafe inside the main building... This is the most popular and the tour guides have excellent information but I wouldn't just go to this one, as Knowth allows you into the mound and gives you a feeling for what it was like to take place in a ritual atmosphere.

Stopped to check out this awesome site on our way from Dublin to Galway. Parked in the lot, which seemed to have plenty of space. There is a nice walk from there to the welcome center, where you'll pay for a ticket and check out the museum while you wait for your tour time. From the center you walk along... More

Highly recommend this day trip to visitors to the Boyne region.it is easy to find, take Exit 9 on M1 motorway and follow signs for Donore. Newgrange is older then the Pyramids and Stonehenge and the history of this site is amazing. The family pass for both Newgrange and Knowth costs 28 euro and it takes about 3.5 hours in... More

We went to Newgrange after Malahide Castle (wonder fest event). Our children are 11 and 8 and i thought it would be good for them to see Newgrange since we were so close. We drove up on the motorway (there is another sneaky toll) and found it easily (well signposted). We had a tour of the center which the children... More

We arrived at Dublin airport after a transatlantic redeye flight and drove directly to the Visitor's Center to get tickets around noon in August and we able to get tickets to Newgrange and Knowth. We felt that we hit the jackpot to get to see one of the oldest sights in the world that has limited ticketing. We had a... More
