The passage tomb complex is a must see attraction for any visitor to Ireland.Although it used to be "free access" the visitor now arrives at the visitor centre where numbers are controlled so that the site is not swamped or damaged by the numbers atracted here. Booking therefore is advisable otherwise you could be waiting several hours before you glimpse... More

Last time I was here was 26 years ago - my how it has been transformed! This has been done in a really good way keeping the simplicity of the area even though thousands of visitors must pass through its gates every year. An extremely good information centre and cafe as well.

I travelled to new grange with my wife and 2 kids. It is one of if not the best Attraction in Ireland. The office of public works have done a great job restoring the passage grave. The tour guides are fantastic and the heritage centre is brilliant. I would highly recommend this spot to all local and foreign tourists

As a sister site to Knowth (the second of three communities) Newgrange (Si an Bhru) is an enormous mound that appears to have been a seasonal "clock." Visitors enter the mound with a guide who first speaks about the history, then recreates the "rising sun" that marks the Winter Solstice sun. Above the entrance to the passage of the mound... More

I was with a small group that visited Newgrange in April 2013. It was a vastly different experience than 2012. All workers were friendly and eager to help. The gift shop has re-opened with many new and interesting items for sale. It worked well this time to arrive and then take a later tour. This allowed for more time to... More

Ticket includes a bus ride to the site itself guided tour of inside the sie are available. Entering is not for those who are extremely claustrophobic. During the summer/winter solstice the site lights up... More
