It is a huge , well organised natural park. The word zoo is a little bit poor for this amazing place. You have a chance to see most of the arctic animals in their own enviorement. The only one which we hadn't a chance to see was the brown bear because henwas hibernating. There is a nice restaurant at the... More

What an amazing experience! It was minus 16 when I visited this amazing wildlife park 2 weeks ago! You will certainly need at least 2-3 hours here. It's 80 km from Rovaniemi so you can take a bus. The scenery is majestic and the animals are in their natural habitats. You will be outside for several hours so dress accordingly.... More

This place has magnificent photo spots. We did not have much time here as the sun was setting. It is however a place that I would like to spend the whole day in. We had buffet lunch in the restaurant which was not bad.

Visited ourselves with the kids, loads of parking and easy to find, family ticket for 4 was I think about 50Euro, versus many hundred if you were to do what pretty much looks like the same thing with a group trip (but then you do need your own car so not an option for many). Well posted walk thru the... More

I think you have to visit here (especially in Winter) with the attitude that you are lucky if you see all the animals. They may be hibernating or just not walk around when you are there. We had a lucky day and saw heaps of the animals - the wolf, arctic fox, polar bear, wolverine, dhole and lynx. The zoo... More

Nice pause place for a nature walk (a bit over 2km; takes only an hour to sluggishly walk around) in the midst of a long drive. During winter, dress up well (ask from the locals if not sure ;) ). Open only short while in the winter (10-16) but longer during the summer (9-19). I especially liked the good enclosures... More

From the location itself, this zoo is a very unique zoo. The animals here are unique and live naturally in their habitats. Well, some of the animals can be found in another zoo actually. But, still a very interesting zoo

The place was good with a relatively large number of animals and birds to view. Maybe I visited in winter, the animals were largely inactive and the 2.30pm feeding time was also not conducive as it was quite dark by then and we could not get good views of the animals. The restaurant/cafe food is expensive so bring your own... More

We have never been to a zoo in winter and it was a fabulous experience. We drove there in the early winter morning. There was no shops, kiosk or petrol station along the way but there were reindeers crossing the road. The most interesting exhibits in the zoo were the snowy owl, grey owl, polar bear and wolves. Though the... More

We came here as a family. Can't say we were not immpessed by the greatness of these animals. Nature will never stop to amaze me. We saw a variety of animals that we would never see in such a short time anywhere else if they were not caged. Now the bitter part is that these animals don't have nearly enough... More
