A nice, well laid out zoo.. Wasn't crowded and allowed us to spend a lot of time photographing the animals. Friendly staff. A great way to spend a few hours looking specifically at Arctic animals.

The best place to see all the native and arctic animals at this zoo. It's only an hour drive from Rovaniemi and it's an easy drive down. The zoo was little but yet very well planned. Love to see the owls and polar bear and brown bear. We're two adults but we have a fantastic time there!

Amazing to see a zoo with only arctic animals in it. The personal was very nice. You can rent a push chair for only 1€. I never recognized that there are so many different owls. Amazing. It is a not too big zoo. Very good with little children. Our dog could stay in a "dog parking area" and got some... More

Well, I was there in winter, in the last days of December with my eight year old daughter. . The zoo must be more interesting in other seasons like summer or spring. Only good to be with children.

We went to this zoo, which is almost on the Arctic Circle, as part of a "safari" run by Ranua Wildlife Safaris - collected from our hotel by a pleasant English- speaking young Finn, who incidentally had worked at the zoo in many capacities in his formative years, provided with sturdy waterproof clothes and umbrellas, and escorted round this great... Zoo is a very extended on the territory. Zoo created for animals. Aviaries animals are very huge. We like most bears - white and brown bears. Bears played right in front of visitors. Also liked the deer - they stood near to the cage - you can even have pat. Other animals lost a large area aviaries and therefore very... More

The zoo is set out out in a beautiful birch forest. Easy access by boardwalks. We enjoyed seeing the animalgs at feeding time but would have liked some commentary English. The printed literature and signs all have good English.

We spent 2 hours walking throughout all sections. Zoo was well-kept and it made us felt like walking in snowy forest in harmony with the animals (as though they were not fenced up). Our tour guide warned us of possible disappointment as the animals will mainly be hibernating since it was winter. But we were lucky, we saw all the... More
