Really enjoyed our trip to Ranua zoo. They have a large selection of species found in lapland and the arctic (brown and polar bears, moose, wolf, eagle etc). Took about 2 hours to walk round, although we could have spent longer if we'd had a bit more luck with the weather. Animals have large enclosures, except for the large birds... More

We got up early on 4 April 2015 and took the no. 6 bus to the zoo. Funny that not a lot of people visiting during Easter holiday. The zoo was small and we had pently of time to explore. There was a cozy little restaurant and a gift store and an ice beer bar. Actually not much to see... More

Great zoo to see not so traditional animals like wolfs and wild birds. Nice walking path and friendly staff. Totally recommend :)

The animals were beautiful and accessible! Many kinds of birds of prey, big cats, polar bears, foxes - everything in one roofless natural setting. A pleasure to walk through.

Beautiful setting, huge enclosures for bigger animals . Some still a bit sleepy but wolves bears and wolverines all active. Some animals so friendly and curious. A delight.

A trail full of artic animals, which you can get very close to. The polar bears and brown bears were clearly the winners. Also a must is a hot chocolate in the igloo bar. The kids also loved the sleigh, which allows parents to do the walking :)

Most of us would only get to see polar bears and all other Arctic animals on TV documentaries. Here we get to see all those, in their almost natural habitats. And if you love owls, there are all sort owls there!

A beautiful forest with soo many Arctic animals which we would just see on a Nat Geo channel. The Polar bear, the brown bear, snow owls.. Amazing place. While we went it was slightly snowing but the experience is awesome. You can do a day trip to this place from Rovaniemi.
