A lighthouse was first built on the Flamborough Headland in 1669 but was never lit. The current lighthouse was built in 1806 and acts as a waypoint for deep sea vessels and coastal traffic as well as marking the Flamborough Headland for vessels heading for the ports of Scarborough and Bridlington. The Lighthouse at Flamborough Head was a really enjoyable visit. The guides were not only friendly but also remarkably knowledgeable, the lighthouse is an amazing peice of technology with a fabulous history. Will go again!

Very picturesque part of the coast and highly recommend it. There is a coffee shop but be aware of parking charges. We will be back

We decided to visit Flamborough Lighthouse with a family of 2 adults and 3 children (9, 13 and 16) as you don't often get a chance to see a working lighthouse like this. The facility is immaculately kept and our guide, Matt was very professional and knowledgeable and great value for money (£12.50 for all 5). All of us enjoyed... More

Stumbled upon Flamborough whilst geo-caching. It's a lovely scenic area, could sit and watch the birds and waves all day! We popped to the cafe and shop and had an ice cream and their menu looked delicious! Will definitely come back to see everything again when we have more time!

We visited this place twice. It does a lovely bacon sandwich, has good local beer and the food is good value. Stunning views whilst eating! Also accepts dogs.

This is a very nice place to visit-we were a bit early to be able to get inside the original lighthouse which I believe is open later in the year but the walk around on a beautiful sunny day was magic. The little café there is a must too.

Visited the lighthouse day and night. Spectacular views from Flanborough and beautiful walks along the coastline. Food in the cafe average and no provision for gluten free diets, offered a cake but it was kept uncovered in the same area as ordinary cakes. They do sell Seabrook crisps and bananas.
