This waterfall has been on my list of must sees for such a long time and when we finally got there it was so amazing. Still partially frozen in late April it was a powerful waterfall that I could have watched all day The multi levels of the waterfall make it so much different to normal waterfalls and to think... This waterfall and river is absolutely breathtaking and it so huge that it allows for excellent picture taking. The waterfall seems to be in the middle of nowhere. You park your car, walk along a wooden plank path and all of a sudden a majestic waterfall appears. The only negative would be that is not accessible to folks with mobility... More

We were staying in Reykjavik with a hire car and decided to drive to waterfall what a pleasant experience took about an hour and a half but all the way there the views are to die for when you get to waterfall there is a small visitor centre and restaurant there are quite a few steps to some of the... This is my #1 story I tell my friends and family when it comes to my Iceland trip. I was kind of weary going to see it during the winter but it turned out to be the best time! Partially frozen double waterfall is something not everyone gets to see everyday and if you go with a tour guide you... More

A most spectacular double waterfall into a gorge. Very good parking facilities at the top and bottom of the run. Shop and cafe at the top was OK but a bit expensive. Excellent photo opportunities.

No doubt about it, this must be the grandest waterfall on the Golden Circle route. Definitely NOT to be missed, i could have stood here all day watching it. There was no rainbow the day i was there, would love to go back in another season and see a rainbow over this.

If you drive the golden circle, this is the fall you see. Very impressive and worth a visit for sure, just as so many things are in Iceland!

we went as part of a golden circle tour. Its an amazing waterfall, comparable with niagara but sadly we didn't get enough time to view it as our tour company only gave us about 1/2 hour for both the waterfall viewing and time in the restaurant. If we were to return we may hire a car and give ourselves more... More

One thing we noticed was that the parks in Iceland are well maintained and free of charge (most of them). The walking paths were very nice to the upper falls and the signs giving some history on it were great. You can then walk down to the lower viewing area and get some waterfall mist and if you're lucky a... More
