This is one of only two outdoor pools in Scotland. It's over 80 years old and is Art Deco in style. There is a strong community involvement and volunteers offer over 5000 hours each season to keep the pool going. The changing rooms are the authentic originals, reminiscent of school, the cubicles cover from knee to neck! There are modern... More

Swimming, outdoors, on a miserable rainy day doesn't sound like much fun, does it? We had amazing time, and stayed twice as long as we have in any other swimming pool. The slide is absolutely crazy (but fun), we all went down once and vowed never to go again, but it was extremely funny watching each other using the slide.... More

There is nothing to beat the joy of swimming in an outdoor pool on a miserable day when the temperature of the water is so hot that steam is rising from the surface. To be followed by destroying all the benefit and visiting the cafe for a bacon roll and chips.

Have never been before - pleasantly surprised - pool was lovely, warm and enough to do. Changing rooms were absolutely spotless and large enough for a lot of people - other pools in the area would do well to follow your example with this. Prices not too bad either, and the fact there was no time limit was also a... More

Thank you for your kind comments. However, the Pool is actually filled only with sea water which is filtered, disinfected, circulated and heated to 29°C. The salt sea water is incredibly buoyant - a great confidence boost for youngsters and people learning to swim. More

I used to love going here in the 1970s with my Aunt and Uncle when on holiday in Stonehaven and took my own kids here during a visit to the town last weekend. What a great pool! Loads of lifeguards, loads of inflatables and floats and a great slide at the deep end (which is properly deep unlike many modern... More

Really enjoyed it and thought prices really good. Was pleased that my 5 year old able to use inflatables after swim test - she loved it and much more sensible approach than just age.

Nice for a relaxing swim, especially when (or if) the sun comes out. Too expensive though. Changing rooms were clean.

We're pleased you enjoyed your swim, but perhaps you didn't realise the ticket is valid all day? You don't even need to stay at the Pool all day - you can just come and go whenever you want, as long as you have your ticket to show. If you're not given a ticket/receipt on entry, just ask for it as... More
