take the tour

Much more interesting with the tour and lunch. Also take the time to go through the museum. Walking on the top level is a must

Used the services of the Tourist Office twice in Remoulins; on both occasions we received excellent, patient and very helpful service from the two young ladies there, both of whom spoke fluent English, much better than my French!!

...and the Romans did not charge trough the nose for parking their carriages near their aquaduct! I just drove peacefully, then found a well-fenced and guarded car-park, where I was warned that I was not entitled to park for even a few minutes without paying an abusive fee. I therefore turned back to visit my local friends, who confirmed this... More

The local Ti is modern and built intelligently with regard to all aspects of your enquiry. Its right at the entrance to the Pont du Gard. Smiles and languages are handed out generously. Your visit to this monumental, perfectly preserved Roman Aqueduct built in 19 BC,makes you gasp as you gape at this massive span across the canyon. it is the... More

Arrived with a group as the heavens opened. A few braved the 15 minutes walk down to view the bridge, the rest took refuge in the self-service restaurant at the tourist centre. Having paid an 18 Euro entrance fee, it turned out to be a rather expensive coffee break!. Not something I would rush back to see in any weather.

One of the highlights of our trip to France was seeing the Pont du Gard. You can see it in pictures, but they don't do it justice. It is amazing that a part of it is still standing and in good condition after 2000 years!!! They have a lovely park like setting there and you can have a picnic, swim,... More
