You may not have heard about this place like myself, but its a hidden paradise to say the least. Bring the 2nd largest mangrove forest in the world (after sundarbans), this place gets you closer to nature in the best possible way. The almost empty beach which is reachable via the boat is an added advantage! A must visit if... More

Always wanted to checkout a Mangrove forest and Pichavaram was great. They have boat rides which vary in time and money. Would suggest a motor boat if you are short on time and Sun is bright. Boats are operated by Tamil Nadu tourism. I wished they took us deep inside but they have limit of 1 hour. If you want... More

Located around 16 km away from chidambaram this forest features scenic views of lush green mangroves.. Choose row boat so that narrow tunnels and canals can be covered.. Weather will be damn hot, advisable to carry a cap and sun protection cream..

Really nice experience. The density of mangrove forests and the water Path give an exciting experience while travelling through. Them in boats. The fare is moderate. There's a branch of hotel Saratha Ram.

With easy accessibility and being very well maintained Eco-tourist place by the TN Forestry Dept., Pichavaram Mangroves definitely holds a spot on the "Places to visit around Cuddalore and Pondicherry".
