The statue or idol is an unparalleled experience to stand before and surrender. The air is rarefied to stillness in the sanctum while a gentle breeze blows outside whispering something. The architectural and engineering feats have finely considered the elements of nature to give this unique ambiance. Yes you feel alone with God in spite of the crowd milling for... More

Participation in the Milk abhisegam absolves us from all doshas and effects of karma. Do not buy any garland at the entrance as the ticket we buy for the abhisegam comprises everything. It is preferable to buy 250/- as the 100/- is pretty much crowded. Do not believe the outsiders as they force us to buy something in someway or... More

Not many people seem to know about this Temple. This is very close - walkable from Mahamaham Tank and is on Nageswaran Street. The temple has Shiva - Nagarajaswamy(Lord of the Snakes) as the main deity. There is also a separate sannidhi(shrine) for Suryar(Sun God) in the outer prahara. The architecture in both the gopurams(temple tower) and inside are very... More

In Kumbakonam, surrounding Adi Kumbheswarar Temple, you find lots of temples for Lord Shiva and Vishnu. Nageswarar Temple is one such Shiva Temple. A Medium size temple. Not too crowded. Can get darshan peacefully without having to move out of the area near the Sanctum immediately
