We visited here from a cruise ship in Halifax, it was a very easy thing to rent a car and drive here ourselves. This is not a spot to be missed! Very picturesque little fishing village with a handful of nice little gift shops selling locally made and sourced products. The lighthouse itself is very cool, out on the rocks... More

The Peggy's Cove Lighthouse is beautiful, situated on a rugged, rocky coastline and easily accessed from the nearby parking lot. There are lots of rocks surrounding the lighthouse and folks can hop around to get a nice view of the ocean. It can get very crowded as it's a popular cruise ship excursion, but well worth the trip. While you're... More

Peggy's Cove is a bit out of Halifax proper, but is well worth the ride. The town itself is a very small fishing village at the ocean's edge, and has only 40 or so permanent residents. The lighthouse is one of the oldest in Nova Scotia, and sits on a huge expanse of granite that you can walk along (albeit,... More

Peggy's Cove was beautiful. It was crowded, but very beautiful. The entire family enjoyed the scenery.

This place was one of the highlights of our quick trip to Nova Scotia! It was a beautiful, clear day and we so enjoyed the scenery around the lighthouse and town. We had lunch at the local restaurant and there were quaint shops with local wares and crafts. We really enjoyed ourselves for the afternoon.

We had a great time at peggy's cove. But please note that if you're not steady on your feet you would not be able to walk the rocks to get close to the lighthouse. But you're close enough. There's a cafe there but the food is quit expensive. I would recamend eating at a local restaurant. We were on a... More

I've been watching Peggy's cove online for a few years now and watch the waves break and always wondered where the people went around the lighthouse. Now I know it was great, just to sit and watch the water. The small gift shop had quite a collection and very busy. I believe it also had a small area for eating.

A must visit place on your Nova Scotia trip. You can stand by the lighthouse and imagine just how rough the sea can be. A quaint place to walk around and talk to the locals. Seek the local history. Gift shops and cafe come with the visit.

Do check on opening times before you go, we didn't!, but there is the wonderful rocky shore line to explore if it is closed. In the history of the area this lighthouse is such an important feature.
