We did the rafting trip as one of our optionals on a Contiki tour around New Zealand - it was touted as being great value for money and one of the best trips we could pick. The group of people from our tour were split over two boats, and we ended up with Drax 'the Destroyer', while our friends were... More

With the promise of the highest commercially rafted waterfall available (7m), this was threatening to our least enthusiastic water baby, but by the end (thanks to staying in the raft) everyone was buzzing about the ride, we had a witty and skilful driver with Christy, who put us into just enough 'danger' to keep our noise levels up and ensure... (Written from my husband's perspective) they have an online booking platform and if they cannot fit you in after booking they may give you the option to go with another reputable provider instead of just canceling. This is how I ended up doing the Wairoa with wet n wild. I appreciated this as I only had one day to raft... More

It is a lot different reading about riding/surfing/launching yourself on to a 7m high waterfall on a raft than actually doing it. Totally exhilarating and in the total safety of the Kaitiaki crew. Loved it - and got the photos to show off!

We did both the rafting and sledging with Kaitiaki Adventures and had an absolute blast during both activities. The rafting involves one hectic hour of rapids and the big waterfall is awesome. The sledging is probably the most fun I've had with any activity throughout New Zealand, going down rapids holding onto a board is as fun as it sounds!... More

Fantastic adventure and wonderful staff. The adventure starts at the Kaitiaki office where you slip into a the gear supplied by them and then jump into the mini bus with a 10mimute drive up the beautiful scenic road with a quick run down on what we were about to face, which had quite a few of us wondering what we had... I've never done rafting before but after this I definitely want to again. I can't recommend it enough, it's the most fun I've had in years. The staff are friendly and funny, the equipment exilent and the trip is both hugely enjoyable and surprisingly informative. You learn about the history of the place whilst enjoying what it has to offer... More

Me and the missus absolutely loved this. The scenery is stunning for starters and the rafting was so much fun! Our guide bopper was a safety first man but definitely got the balance of safety and fun spot on, Purposefully keeping us on edge to make the experience better. He's also great banter but also had a few interesting things... More
