Spent a couple of nights in this area for a recent Graduation ceremony. What a wonderful enclave full of great dining and entertainment venues, shops and hotels. Parking is plentiful in the multi-story garages and is actually quite affordable. Lots of fun people-watching as you wander along this condensed area. I see a great future as this location develops.

Clean, safe but so artificial. If you are looking for an authentic local experience this is not it. It is a complete tourist area rather isolated from the actual DC area. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you are looking to enjoy the city because the accessibility is limited, timely and expensive.

Something for everyone at Harborfront -- Food, drink, street performers, but most of all what a view of Lake Ontario. Harborfront seems to be the site of numerous festivals and there are plenty of activities, concession booths, entertainers, boats, the ferry, green spaces to enjoy. Sandy beach with umbrellas too! Harborfront is easily accessible by streetcar or the subway from... More

On this, my third visit since December, Imwas there to attend a conference. Enjoyed it just as much as when we visit for a,weekend getaway. Just the right mix of shops, restaurants and nightlife. Proximity to Old town Alexandria and DC can't be beat.

While a little pricy, ICE! presented by the Gaylord National Resort near the waterfront is amazing. Last year (2014) was Frosty the Snowman, every year is different. It's amazing to see what they can do with ice and the ice is so real and looks just like their movie counterpart. The Gaylord itself is a nice hotel and is extra... More

We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites and it was amazing! Just a short walk from the Harborfront area. My son loved the carousel. Only $7 per child for the day and the adults ride free. There are two miniature playgrounds there so if you need to kill some time you can spend an hour or two there playing... More

Lots of chain restaurants, busy area, slow service at most of the restaurants. Priced quite high because nothing else around there easily accessible.

On a very hot day going down to the waterfront to cool off and see the activities of people and their interactions is fun. They offer a movie screen where you can sit on chairs or blanket and eat facing the water.
