My visit was at the end of autumn so no ice and snow, but the feeling of bare simplicity was very strong in Fabåda. Genuine tools and constructions a scattered thru the forest like at a genuine camp. It really gives a taste of how primitive life used to be in northern latitudes.

Nanoq was one of the most positive experiences I have had for a longest time. This museum is built and managed by a private person, who has collected all the items during a long time. You definitely must have a guide to accompany you, since they will explain the history behind the exposition. Especially I appreciated the history and stories...

If you visit Pietarsaari/Jakobstad this museum is just a must to see. In the world it does not exist so many arctic museums, and in Finland there are two, One in Rovaniemi and so this. The museal area is filed with arctic memories from the past and I recommend a guided tour in the museum because the topic is odd...
