Visit, it is very interesting

Great place for history! I recommend coming before you see the wall in order to understand the whole history.

My friends and I hired a guide to bring us through the museum. She spoke English, and everything she said seemed very rehearsed, but she was very enthusiastic. I would definitely visit the museum before trekking up the Great Wall. The museum is air conditioned and has the cleaned bathrooms. It is also very informational to learn about the history... More

It was full of school kids like every attraction we went to in China. But the museum was clean, bright and had lots of info about the wall. The museum is included in the price of your ticket to the Great wall.

Typical in China, the vendors are relentless. They expect to haggle and they are AGGRESSIVE. I just walked out. They would not even give me time to think and browse. If you like to barter, our guide recommended cutting their price in half and going up from that. Good luck. I just could not take the stress...not fun to me!

This museum is FREE and most of the signs are in English as well as Chinese. It's got lots of beautiful pictures of the wall, too.

We were looking forward to visiting the museum but it was closed - our guide told us that it is closed every day now for some reason. Real shame
