Surprised to note that reviews of 龙庆峡 (Long Qing Xia) are parked under “Longqing Gorge” instead…, The Great Dragon Gorge is one of the most famous gorges of China. It is located some 60 miles from Beijing and quite accessible via the bus system. Formed by a dammed river that flows down between very abrupt mountains, LongQingXia is definitely an... More

Without the smog that day would be better. Mind, it's a manmade gorge. So pls adjust your expectations accordingly. Nonetheless, it's stlil a very lovely place to go. If you don't have time to go Guilin, or the 3 Gorges, this is probably the closest you can get around Beijing.

We added this to our Great Wall day with a tour guide we hired and it was really impressive. The boat ride is quite pretty. It is colder here than on Beijing so bring layers depending on the season.

This is my favorite place in 6 days trip to China. Such a beautiful lake. My tour Leader said that this is similar like Guilin. So my next trip to China, I wanna visit Guilin. The weather was nice, the breathtaking view can be seen from the boat. The boat will take you around the lake. Very clean lake. Luckily... More

We visited here with a small group, the place is absolutely beautiful. I like the dragon escalator that wraps around the gorge, we used this to reach the top. Well worth the two hour drive from Beijing. Whilst we were there we were on the boat trip and noticed a acrobatic practice going on, a guy riding a bicycle across... More

We went to Longqing gorge to check out the hype about the scenery which is supposed to be similar to the Li River but with clearer water. On arriving at the ticket office, we noted that admission prices were 40 RMB for general admission, 100 RMB for the boat tour, 10 RMB for the flowers cave (or 150 RMB for... More

This is a really great place to see. The scenery is excellent. We rent a small mini bus from hotel to this place. The drive was around 2 hours with little traffic. We departure in the morning at 8. Once you arrive there you need to take a small buggy to get to the top. The price is 5 rmb... More

Takes about 1.5hrs drive from Beijing to Yanqing. Relatively quiet place with not many tourists, probably it's due to a weekday. Huge park map at the information counter, shown in Chinese and Korean. Cars are not allowed to the Gorge entrance so we had to pay for rmb5 (one way) buggy ride up to the Gorge and another ticket back... More

I've been to Harbin Ice Festival just the once (I couldn't help but be amazed by it) but had friends visiting this Winter and wanted to show them an Ice Festival knowing one is located at Longqing Gorge so took a trip here. We went in Chinese New Year, terrible idea! Journey there was fine, the run to get a... More

The ice sculptures are very nice. The organizers were very clever in their ways to protect them from the mild weather.
