We arrived in time to take the last afternoon Marahau water taxi to Anchorage. We had Skipper Glenn, who added enormously to our trip. Do ask Skipper Glenn, about his headaches at home! We inadvertently dropped a small camera tripod in the taxi, however a call to the 0800 #, and we where thrilled to find the tripod at the... More

We loved our day at Abel Tasman National Park. We walked the track from Medlands Beach to Anchorage Bay (about 12 km) and enjoyed the sights along the way - the swing bridge, Cleopatra's Pool and especially the gorgeous Torrent Bay. I can't recommend this highly enough. I only wish we had time to do more than one day on... More

We took a water taxi from marahau to anchorage bay and walked back to marahau. We were followed on the boat by a pod of dolphins!! Awesome! We also saw seals on the way. The walk is stunning, you are able to access lots of secluded bays, with pristine white sand and the bluest sea ever. Absolutely stunning.

Sadly we could only go a few km along the path as we did not have more time, but this is on the list for next time. Beautiful and what are certainly many perfect and empty beaches to enjoy along the way.

My husband and I took a Marahau water taxi from town up to Anchorage, and walked the 6 miles back to town. We kept a brisk pace, as we had a flight to catch to the North Island that evening and didn't have any time to dawdle. We were able to complete it in 3 hours, even with multiple stops... More

To walk this park is the most amazing experience with the most beautiful beaches and what I would call untouched New Zealand. The weather is beautiful and even in the shoulder season the days are great. There are also many kayak company's to be able to kayak the beautiful waters of this park. There is a marine reserve and seals.... More

A stunning track in all sections, the Abel Tasman is worth the summer busy-ness. There are many ways to enjoy it--walk the length, do day hikes with the help of water taxis, kayak the length or in bits, ... every possible combination. Whatever you do, don't skip this part of New Zealand. However, the northern end is more remote, pristine,... More

Used Wilson to take a boat out to Tonga quarry beach and then hiked back in to Medlands beach. Up and down into the woods and then down to 1 gorgeous beach after another. The trail is very well maintained and the views are spectacular. We only did a 2 hour hike, could have seen more. A big plus, lots... More

The water taxis allow you to hike different sections of the trail each day and return to your base lodging if you wish. The beaches are stunning also should you choose not to hike at all!

One of our favourite places in New Zealand! We had limited time and could only spend a day doing part of the walk. We also wanted to spend some time on the beaches as well as walk. The sea taxi combination suggested by our Kaiteriteri ( Everton B and B ) hostess was perfect for us ....there are various options... More
