We made two walks one day just going to the next beach and the other for the whole day popping in and out of some of the bays along the way. All free!

Its a great place for a nice and quiet walk for family and friend. The view is pretty amazing although we went in winter seasons so all the cafés were closed on Sunday so we were pretty hungry, luckily we had some biscuits with us.

We are so lucky to live right here in Nelson. Sometimes we take the natural beauty of our region for granted. The Abel Tasman is simply beautiful - golden beaches and a view that is easily accessible to even novice trampers (hikers). Enjoy!!

Even if you aren't up for a hike the boat ride alone is beautiful, and we just got off to take a short walk before taking the boat back to the start - perfect for a short picnic we brought along.

This trail and natural beauty is in the top 3 for what is one of the most awe inspiring lands on the planet. I was able to do the whole of the Able Tasmin trail, some 30 mile"The 30 miles and 3 days, taking it real slow to take all the beauty of the power-white beaches, the dramatic highcliff headlands,... Really beautiful walk with some amazing views and gorgeous beaches! Not a too strenuous walk so it's suitable for just about anyone. The water taxi is a bit expensive. Also watch out for the sand flies.

This has been my first multi-day hike and it simply was amazing. On the first day we took the water taxi out to Totaranui and started off with the northern part. After we set camp at Motton Cove we explored Seperation Foot which you should make sure to see beside the extra kms. The next days we made our way... More

Walking trek is an average path, very touristy but the views and the beaches make up for it. Kayaking on the first day is a must and was the best way to see the national park and stop off on the beaches on the way to the first stop at Anchorage. The Huts on the trek are in great condition... More

We unfortunately didn't get to hike most of the trek, got to the 3rd beach only. I would recommend the tour boat, I really regret not booking a tour boat. The beaches are beautiful white sand and they apparently just get better and better the further you get into them.

We walked from Marahau to Anchorage and back on a daytrip from Nelson. The highlight was the beach at Anchorage. The quality of the DOC accommodation at Anchorage was surprisingly good. New, north facing, floor to ceiling double glazed windows ,large communal kitchen and lounge area and 4 bunkrooms. Outside was a large north facing deck overlooking the bay. We... More
