We walked about 2 hours along the Able Tasman track starting from Marahau. The scenery changed along the track and it was beautiful at each corner and bay. We would have loved to have done more of the track but we only had half a day to explore.

I drove up one day in the kayak with my friend. We were equipped with the most important stuff because you are not able to buy anything. The kayakride took one day and it was awesome. We did it in April, the weather was perfect and there was so much to explore. Islands, laguns and seals. After that we came... More

We hiked from Marahau to Anapai Bay (returned to Totaranui for boat transport back to Marahau). HIGHLY recommend the Te Pukatea Bay Campsite and Onetahuti Bay Campsite. We were concerned about hiking in the winter, but the weather was nice, there were no sandflies to deal with, we rarely saw other hikers on the trail, and we were the only... More

We walked this beautiful and amazing track with Wilsons, staying in their lodges at Awaroa and Torrent Bay. We were provided with fantastic meals, lovely hotel-style accommodation and really informative and pleasant guides that was well worth the premium price played for the five day experience. On the first day we were collected from our hotel in Nelson and driven... More

We spent 3 days walking and kayaking - and I have reviewed this separately for Wilsons who conduct the trip. The park itself is stunning - and the conditions in February just delightful.

The Abel Tasman is different to other 'Great Walks' of NZ as it has baches (private holiday homes) and small commercial operations throughout the track (or just off it). So we realised after the event that we probably could have put together a catered group walk ourselves rather than using the Wilsons package. The latter is very very good. A... More

We made two walks one day just going to the next beach and the other for the whole day popping in and out of some of the bays along the way. All free!

Its a great place for a nice and quiet walk for family and friend. The view is pretty amazing although we went in winter seasons so all the cafés were closed on Sunday so we were pretty hungry, luckily we had some biscuits with us.

We are so lucky to live right here in Nelson. Sometimes we take the natural beauty of our region for granted. The Abel Tasman is simply beautiful - golden beaches and a view that is easily accessible to even novice trampers (hikers). Enjoy!!
