Worth a visit to these interesting remains of a 3600 BC temple. However they need to do a better job explaining what you are looking at. The pamphlet is pretty good but the signs are poor or non-existant. More

Do your research first so you can appreciate this site. It was okay, but I thought it was over-priced at 6 euro entrance fee to get in, and it's mostly in ruins, though there are some replica carvings. I wasn't expecting too much from it. More

We went to tarxien temples after the hypogeum. We paid 15€ total and we went in/out.Then, we asked for audio guides and they said that they didn't have. The mini temples were so boring and I wanted to go back to the hotel.I don't recommend it at all. More

We didn't book in time for the Hypogeum but this is well worth the visit. We asked for directions to the temples from the Hypogeum (which is situated just off the main road into Paola). It was only a 10min walk from there. The entrance to the temple complex is impressive and it was very interesting seeing the intricate stonework... More

The Tarxien temples are three temples in one belonging to different ages from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age. They are wonderful and very much older that Stonehenge in England. Malta is very rich in such temples. More

We went to the Tarxien Temples just after seeing the Hypogeum which is a ten minute walk away. The Hypogeum is amazing, so the temples may have seemed better if viewed in isolation. In comparison they weren't great. There was a tendency in the earlier part of the 20th century to use concrete for 'restoration' in Malta, and the Tarxien... More

This one of Malta's key archaeological sites and it is a shame it is hemmed in by drab suburban housing. This seriously detracts from an appreciation of the place of the temples in the landscape. I suppose demolishing a few hundred houses is not an option? Just a thought. The site is also completely open to the elements which can't... More

We had seen a number of ruins similar to this in other countries and this one was not as good as the others. The cravings were worn and hard to see and there had been a lot of disturbance to the site befroe it was protected. More

The Marketing group were taken to visit the Tarxien temple which was constructed 7000 years ago. The group were fascinated with how full of history Malta is and the majority expressed the interest to visit with family for a holiday. The group was late for the visit....and the temple responsible (Maria and her team) waited for us. She gave an... More

Wow, Malta really suprised me went for 2 weeks wanting to relax and did not stop for one second! It is places like Tarxien, in the middle of a town just hidden behind a normal facade, that make malta an incredible trip! The temple itself is quite large to really look through allow at least an hour and a half.... More
