Worth a visit to these interesting remains of a 3600 BC temple.
However they need to do a better job explaining what you are looking at.
The pamphlet is pretty good but the signs are poor or non-existant.

Do your research first so you can appreciate this site. It was okay, but I thought it was over-priced at 6 euro entrance fee to get in, and it's mostly in ruins, though there are some replica carvings. I wasn't expecting too much from it.

We didn't book in time for the Hypogeum but this is well worth the visit. We asked for directions to the temples from the Hypogeum (which is situated just off the main road into Paola). It was only a 10min walk from there. The entrance to the temple complex is impressive and it was very interesting seeing the intricate stonework...

This one of Malta's key archaeological sites and it is a shame it is hemmed in by drab suburban housing. This seriously detracts from an appreciation of the place of the temples in the landscape. I suppose demolishing a few hundred houses is not an option? Just a thought.
The site is also completely open to the elements which can't...

We had seen a number of ruins similar to this in other countries and this one was not as good as the others. The cravings were worn and hard to see and there had been a lot of disturbance to the site befroe it was protected.

The group was late for the visit....and the temple responsible (Maria and her team) waited for us. She gave an...
