Praia la Luz is like a fishing village trying to become a town. We stayed for one week and walked all over it, eating at different places at night. We arrived in cloudy and there was no one around the pool, no one at the bar, no one in the streets, not a single person on the beach and noone... More

Praia de Luz is a lovely restful place to go to chill out. The beach wasn't crowded at all and there was more than enough space to get away from everyone. It is quiet at night so if you are looking for a lively nightlife then it may not be the place for you. But I can't wait to go back

Booked online and didn't know what to expect. Arrived late at night but all information was there as needed. Once in the apartment I opened the patio door and all I could hear was the sound of the Ocean. Fabulous spot.

We found this village last year. Despite being nervous because it is a village that is steeped in controversy since the tragic disappearance of Madeleine McCann, we found this to be a really lovely place to holiday, even with a young child. It has a lovely beach, really nice restaurants and a very friendly atmosphere among locals and tourists. The... More

Lovely beach, some closed down shops etc, I was there for 10 days and I did not see one single bus, no taxis, the taxi has to be ordered from Lagos, which there is no extra charge for and i would confirm this when you book, I think you really need a car if you want to explore.

Praia is a relatively small resort located on a small bay with a lovely beach about 40 miles west of Faro. It has a good choice of restaurants to suit all budgets and 2 supermarkets to cater for self-caterers. The locals are friendly, the town attractive and very welcoming to British travellers who appear to make up the majority of... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our walk from Luz to Burgau, probably about 3 miles. Burgau is a small town with a sandy cove with a few bars and cafes for lunch just right after the walk. The back to Luz which is a larger town with lots of cafes/restaurants, a few stalls selling clothes and gifts and a lovely sandy beach.

The relaxed atmosphere you come to expect in the ALGARVE, but Luz is extra special, from the excellent child friendly beach, up the cobbled street past the extensive variety of restaurants, to the vast range of luxury Villas in Monte Lemos.
