While I was recently in Lagos I decided to do a half day trip to Luz. The weather was sunny and warm that day. As being of season I headed to the beach first which is long. I more or less had the beach to myself most of the time. Nice and peaceful. Well worth a visit but the town... More

It was a lovely little beach and felt quite safe, there were a few surfers around and it was quite clean.

Cool in the evenings but absolutely nothing to do after 9pm,most of the visitors are mature couples,it's more of a relax and let the world go by type of place.

Apart from the tragedy that this place is known for in the UK, It really is worth a visit. Great shops, good restaurants and a range of excellent apartments and villas.

Praia la Luz is simply one of the most beautiful spots on the Algarve, gorgeous sandy beach, picturesque paved promanade dotted with bars and restaurants which make a lovely stroll, great place to swim or sunbathe and very romantic spot indeed. Loved it!

We have been to Luz beach over many years, but for the first time on 23 October we saw a dozen or so dolphins playing in the surf. It caused great amusement to those swimming or paddling! A great sight.

A small resort with a line of beachside restaurants and some others dotted around the back streets. A couple of small supermarkets and gift shops more or less completes the picture, but strolling along the beach after breakfast is a delight.

This was our first visit to this area of Portugal. October is a great time to visit, the sun still hot in the daytime, the evenings cool, but comfortable enough to sit outside one of the many Cafes and Restaurants, where the food is great and very reasonably priced. We always like to wander around the backstreets of little towns... More

We've regular visitors to Praia da Luz since 1990 and absolutely love it. The village is quite small and the majority of the accommodation is self-catering but the standard of accommodation is generally high. All needs are catered for in the excellent restaurants that are guaranteed to suit all tastes and by Baptista's and the Spar Supermarkets. The bread at... More
