We have up to date diving equipment which is replaced regularly. We have excellent dive gear imported and replaced regularly. Contrary to what one reviewer, Roadsmoretravelled, November/December 2013, has falsely put on a review. He did not come on our dhow but was probably told by the Shimoni hotel he stayed at that he was going with Pilli Pipa. We do not dive in 1 or 2 metres of water and we do not have shocking equipment. If you want a wonderful diving experience with professionals, book with Harm Lutjeboer, Pilli Pipa Dhow Safari, PADI and Naui registered, dive base, Firefly Ocean Camp in Shimoni. Not based at Shimoni Reef Lodge. We also take snorkellers to the Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park for an exciting adventure followed by lunch at Pilli Pipa on Wasini Island. « less

We took our 11 year old boys on this trip, all first timers to snorkelling with Pilla Pipa. It was a perfect experience, everything worked like clockwork, the crew were amazing, understood our every need, looked after every detail. Lunch was an experience with a warm welcome, delicious servings and a breathtaking setting. Highly recommend this experience, great value for... More

This was a unique experience, not likely to be forgotten! Captain Hassan and his crew on the Monsoon were outstanding, and really friendly. They were prepared for all types of travellers and were ready to deal out sympathy for those of us not lucky enough to have sea legs. Luckily in this instance it didn't include me....The guide I had... More

If you read the review by "Roads more traveled" and then assume that he was either on drugs or someone had conned him into going on their boat saying they were Pilli Pipa his nonsense review makes more sense. However, the genuine Pilli Pipa snorkeling and dining was exceptional. Yes, more expensive than many things you could do, but this... More

At first we did not know what to expect and were a little taken back by the price ($120 USD pp for the day), because we have traveled the world and the most we have paid for a day of snorkeling is $80 USD pp. In Kenya, prices are much less than in the US, but this was higher than... More

We booked this for our final day in Kenya to see the marine life and sample the local seafood and we were not disappointed. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the boat, which was a rustic Arabian dhow. Once onboard the staff were very friendly and took good care of us. For note of non-smokers, there... More

Don’t be confused - this is NOT a genuine diving trip – it is a Day Trip for family snorkelers in 1-2 metres of water! The divers are an ancillary to the trip – far from their focus. Dives are a crazily expensive add on to the trip – given you are in Kenya pricing. But worse, they justify diving... More

We have no record of you coming on the Pilli Pipa excursion, in fact Shimoni Reef Lodge, where you stayed, does not send their divers to us. Pilli Pipa has excellent dive gear, all imported from The Netherlands. Wasini Island is not in Shimoni. Shimoni is on the Kenya mainland and Wasini is an island. Pilli Pipa does own a... More

We really enjoyed our 'Dolphin Safari' with Pilli Pipa. We were collected from the hotel by the friendly, knowledgeable Benson and taken to the dhow where staff were equally friendly. The information provided, the weather, the equipment and the guidance was all top notch and SCUBA diving was awesome and we had the flexibility to chose a second dive. Finally,... More

A little more expensive than some trips we were offered, but local knowledge suggested the extra cost was worth it. And we certainly had no complaints. A well run trip with enthusiastic staff all the way. Everyone's needs were catered for throughout. Pilli Pipa also have their own private area in a beautiful setting where they serve a delicious seafood... More

Following recommendations, we joined Pilli Pipa for a day at the Kisite National Marine Park and it was great! The owner was very helpful (as we called him last minute for the next day) and we could go for two very good dives, departing from Shimoni! Also, as we had to leave before the lunch usually planned on the islands,... More
