I have not expected to enjoy this tourest attraction but I found it better than I expected so if you are in the area it is worth a look. A long row of Budda figures align forming a magnified image and curve into the distance all clean beautifully kept. View outside across the river

Would I make Sagaing a target destination? No. But as long as you're there, this is worth a look. I bumped my rating just because it is a bit different. The curved sweep of the facade and hall of Buddhas is very attractive. Just be sure to go up the mountain. On the way, there is a small shrine with... More

U Min Thonze Pagoda is one of the most distinctive complexes on the main hill top of Sagaing. It is a very fine piece of architecture and well worth visiting. U Min means caves and Thonze means thirty, of which there are thirty entrances. The pagoda comprises 45 beautiful gilded Buddha images in a crescent-shaped colonnade, partly built into the... More

the gold encrusted arches lay in a crescent serviced by a large paved patio. You enter one end of the cave to be amazed by nearly fifty Buddhas in a curve. Quite breathtaking. There are many worshippers here and an old guy behind an ancient desk, chanting. You'll probably wear out your camera with the images in the cave and... More

The carvings of 45 Buddha images is outstanding and you can drive directly to the temple or else go up by stairs also looking at the beautiful view all around. This is a place near mandalay but if you are here you should surely visit this place and sagaing hill.

This offers spectacular views of the river and more than 500 pagodas dotted around the countryside. Inside is filled with colour, interest, and beauty. Well worth visiting.

30 entrances, 45 identical Budda's carved insuitu for rock in an original cave. This place is outstanding, the outside is wonderful as well as the view from the top of the structure. This is a must see if you are in Mandalay. Look at the photos if you need convincing.

At the top of Sagaing Hill you will find this wonderfully peaceful pagoda. It is a stunning vantage point from which to view the Irrawaddy River, its bridges and countless stupas in the countryside below. This is one of the most religious areas of Myanmar and you will see many Monks & Nuns during your visit. There is a massive... More
