staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The town is small and this would be the highlight of town but so worth it.

This is a nice place to visit you can feed the turtles and also take them out of the water. They have different size pools for their stages of life etc. However if you go there to learn anything about the turtles it is a bit hard because the man who works there is not very useful if you ask... Gentleman there did not speak english or french very well. This is to be expected and is part of the charm. He spoke slowly "very" and repeated often to make sure you understood. Would go back for another 2 hour visit :)

We were really impressed with the work of the sea turtle hatchery. I really wanted to go here and it was really worth the 1 CUC we pay at the entrance. What they do is really amazing and I would really have loved to go to cayo largo in June so that I could see the turtles putting the eggs... More

Run totally by a few volunteers, this worthwhile visitor attraction is a must to visit. They collect the eggs from tourist beaches and transfer them to a safe hatchery than keep the young turtles in clean pools until large enough to be released into the ocean.

Just a bunch of different turtles in different pools here. Yeah I held a few of them to get pictures but based on what was being offered, 1 peso was too much for this. It should be free.

Pretty amazing on how they care so much for the turtles. Holding the turtles is an experience. Wish we were able to be part of the release of the babies or gathering of the eggs, but we were there in later April and the nesting season begins in May.
