Had never tried it before and was very nervous but made it easy and fun. You won't forget the hang gliding at all.
We took the Able Tasman scenic tour on The micro lights. It was excellent and the best way to see the park

We did both the hang-gliding and the 30min. microlight (ultralight?) and it was great! It is great to fly in such a small plane or hang bellow a wing felling like a bird. The microlight is the only option to really reach Abel Tasman National Park but the 'standard' package will just fly over sea along the coastline so you...

Felt surprisingly stable and safe in the air, get great views of the area - could even see sting rays in the water below us. Highly recommended.

It was a relatively short drive from Nelson to get to the airfield, from which we took off in the microlights. Our one hour expedition over and around the Abel Tasman Park was by far the best way to get a feel for the area and take in all of the views - on a limited time schedule.
