Owner description: The newest golf course in the Caribbean opened in December 2009. Apes Hill Club enjoys a prime location at almost 1000 feet above sea level in the centre of Barbados. Located amongst a richly diverse landscape of rolling meadows, dense tropical forest, and coral stone quarries. The Club and its splendid amenities are establishing a new standard of excellence in the Caribbean. The developers, with a shared passion for creating communities designed to preserve and enhance their natural environments, have risen admirably to the challenge. The 470 acres of land has been divided into eight neighbourhoods with two two-thirds of the acreage ramaining as open space. Property owners have a selection of custom homes or semi-detatched villas which blend harmoniously with nature while affording unparalleled views of breathtaking scenery.

Most interesting and aesthetically pleasing course I have played, the back nine is second to none! The mix of world class golf holes and pristine jungle that surrounds it made it for me the premier course in Barbados! I played Royal Westmoreland during my week long stay but for me Apes Hill was No 1! The whole experience was rounded... More

Very few people on the island, including locals, have had the opportunity to visit Apes Hill GC. Apes Hill is a truly magnificent golfing resort who staff members and very experienced PGA Professionals could not make you any more welcome. The Clubhouse facilities are very comprehensive and food exquisite. More importantly the course was in tremendous shape, definitely a must... More

Very attractive course and great staff. A must for all golfers visiting Barbados. Difficult 2 opening holes but then the course opens out and is a joy to play. Did not sample food but it looked very good.

Played here 4 times now and can't wait to go back again. I'm a golf nut and trust me you will be hard pushed to find anywhere as welcoming, with a course that is just fantastic. Challenging for sure, scenic...where else can you see both the Caribbean/Atlantic Oceans at one point - just go up there, enjoy and you'll want... More

Fantastic course, amazing views and brilliant design. Played in the wet season, encountered a tropical storm and the course quickly became waterlogged. Thought that the course would close for a couple of days, but after taking no more than an hour for lunch we re-started and could not believe how quickly the course drained. Then watched a monkey playing bongo... More

Dear William, We are delighted you had a fantastic time playing on our course! Apes Hill golf course prides itself in being quick to drain with the heavy rains. I am very glad you were able to get a round in with the terrible weather we had. Hope to see you again in the New Year! The monkeys will be... More

Having only been established for six years, it’s perhaps not surprising Apes Hill golf course is not well known back in the UK. Sandy Lane and Royal Westmoreland have long been synonymous with Barbados golf, and I was interested to see how Apes Hill compared. I was not prepared for what I was about to experience… It is situated up... More

If you play one course in Barbados it must be Apes Hill. It is excellent value and a test for any golfer. There are some of the best views you will see on any course. Hole 13 will either make or ruin your round!

Thank you for such a great review! And I am glad to hear the course was a challenge. Personally I have done some damage to my game on hole 12 and 13. Hope to see you again in the New Year! More

OK, I have to admit to a hint of bias. I was living and working in Barbados until recently and had been playing regularly at AHC since it opened fully as an 18 hole course at the end of 2009. If you are serious about playing golf in Barbados then AHC has to be on your itinerary. It offers a... More
