The entrance of the Saqqare looks like a public building in Spain. Yet Saqqara is the oldest stone complex know to the world. It contains pyramid complex of Zoser, pyramid of Unas, pyramid of Teti, other ruined pyramids, and many tombs.
It will take about an hour drive from Cairo.

See the step pyramids on horseback. Beautiful clean area. Food and drink service. Just added nifty dune buggies--unbelievable way to view the sites!
