The diving at Apo reef was great. 9 dives was more than enough as there is not enough variety of dive site are a longer trip. This review is not about the diving itself however but instead about DiveCal the operator we chose to go on the live-aboard trip with. The trip is meant to be a 3 night/3 day... More

It is difficult to reply to someone who says we tell ‘lie upon lie’ without saying what all the lies are! We informed all divers of the changes – that the Coastguard no longer allowed night trips - before they paid and I emailed all who had advanced bookings. This diver says he did not know until the 9.00 pm... More

We spent 3 days on the boat, it was just amazing! The staff are very professional! Even if there were a lot of waves at the begining the capitain managed so well that we could sleep during the night. The food was extremely good and we had each day different kind of food and fruits. We never eat so well... More

My boyfriend and I chose DiveCal because the price was great and they were able to be flexible with what we wanted. (I am certified and he needed a PADI). While he was being trained they let me on the boat and also allowed me to participate in some of his training dives. The dive master was very professional and... More

Had a great experience with Divecal overall. I received my PADI for a for a really good deal, had helpful and knowledgeable dive masters every time, and had friendly deckhands on board with good experience of the area(they also make awesome food for lunch).

Price-wise, this was the only real option for me and my buddy to do a liveaboard to Apo Reef. The accommodation is very basic but adequate. We went in July and it is hot and sticky but the diving makes up for this. (Watch out for bedbugs in the mattresses despite the sweaty plastic covering, but sheets were clean. Pillows... More

The insects were not bed bugs, but ants. Alsp annoying. but at least they do not suck blood! The cabin has been treated with special Ant powder and I will make sure it is carefully checked before each trip The booked guide could not go at the last minute. We did check the certification of the reserve. We also checked... More

I was excited to see that dive cal offered a four day apo reef trip while I was to be in coron. After a couple of emails with the proprietor, Trevor, I paypalled the deposit to him. I asked him over email three days prior to departure for more information about when he would could confirm the trip as we... More

I emailed Natasha until the day before she left for Coron. I do not after that as I am not sure that she would be online. But most importantly that our Terms require a diver to report to the Dive shop in person before the Safari, We have to check Cert, fit kit etc. This she did not do. We... More

Cheapest diving in Coron. The resident DM, Ron Edmonds is a top guy who guided our small group around all of the wrecks with the expertise and knowledge of a pro. Went on the Apo Reef safari also(4D/3N), and this was also a great trip. The food was amazing and plentiful and always waiting for us at the end of... More

Dive Cal is one of only two dive centres in Coron that have any evidence of professionalism. The other was Rock Steady who I also had the opportunity to dive with. The outfit is small but highly recommended. Just quite simply, fantastic. We were very lucky to be able to go on an APO REEF trip with Dive Cal. What... More

The dives were great but the equipment and the divemaster were not. They took groups of upto 7 divers with one divemaster through wreck dives which is not safe. Especially when this divemaster did not look back once to check on the divers. This caused a lot of us to get lost among the wrecks and figure our own way... More

I looke dinto this very carefully. Guide: The other booked guide reported sick and it was not possible to find another. We normally have a gudeline of max 4 per guide. This also depends on the group make-up. If we had 2 DMs diving and 2 OWs we would try to put up two guides. Regulators. All our regulators are... More
