The 720 or so steps going to the top of Mount Tapyas was tiring but it was worth it. The 360-degree view of Coron at the top is just awesome!

The view was very nice, but we had underestimated what 800 stairs would be like. The steps are quite steep and being a smoker I had to stop several times on the way up. The view was lovely at the top though so it was worth it. There is a lady at the bottom who sells drinks (at an inflated... More

Climbed the +/- 750 steps towards the top of Mt. Tapyas. While the whole place is dilapidated, it was still worth the climb. I had a good morning exercise and upon reaching the top, you can have a very good view of the whole town and its outlying islands. The view behind is better. More green and cleaner than the... More

We went up Mt Tapyas the same day we arrive to Busuanga Coron. We were sweating walking up the 725 steps. Some of us didn't climb up and waited below. My two five year old boys went up and didn't seem to care that its 725 steps. The view is spectacular and this is another good way to experience Coron,... More

This is still an experience, climbing 700++ steps is hard, don't worry as there are rest stops. Just enjoy the view. When we went here we weren't able to enjoy the sunset but got another experience which was to enjoy the rain and see the clouds coming at us, giving this very scary winds in which we still enjoyed. The... More

I think it is fun to climb with friends where you can laugh at how sweaty you are. We climbed around 9am so there was no sunrise nor sunset to make it special, but still there was a sense of fulfillment reaching the top and seeing the view. However, the cross which we see in photos was destroyed by Yolanda... More

Mt Tapyas is easy to get to from the town as it's only 2 blocks from the main street. Once there, the walk up to the top is pretty easy as the steps are well laid out and taken care of. We went when it was cloudy so it wasn't hot. Was surprised to see that the cross was now... More

724 steps ain't as hard as it seems but getting up there gives you a good feeling about yourself of being able to accomplish something. No need for water unless you dehydrate easily (I suggest doing a sunrise climb). Bring a book or bible or music. Its a must do in coron.

Well, after a day tour with all the islets in coron and cardio swimming and diving . My boyfriend and I were crazy enough to stretch it out. From the port to the 756 steps.... easy walk with slow stops to see how high and far we were. At some point, we were just 50 steps away- I began to... More

Mount Tapyas (Chip) is a 10-20 minutes tricycle ride from coron town proper. It got its name because according to townfolks, when the japanese bombarded palawan, it chipped the upper part of the mountain. It is advisable that before starting your trek up, you should buy atleast a 500ml water to avoid dehydration and to power up your body. Though,... More
