We visited this area after an exciting drive up from Los Christianos through the mountains. The sight of the Atlantic breakers pounding the shore line is awesome. We had grilled sardines at "La Venta de Marrero" overlooking the beach in glorious sunshine, doesn't get much better! Well worth the effort.

Forget the hairpin turns on the road to Masca which is sold to tourisst. For an exciting drive take the road from Santa Cruz to Taganana and beyond to Playa Roque de las Bodegas and finally Playa Benijo. This is a dead end so you go back the same way you came. If you get lost on the way back... More

Last September I have been to Tenerife for the first time in my life and I loved every minute of my holidays. We had an hotel in the north of the Island and with a car Hire We drove all around. The first beach visited has been Playa Benijo. Amazing natural spot, we had to walk a little bit to... More

Probably the best beach on the island. Well worth the drive getting there as you feel like you are in another world. Ideal place to chill out and relax.

Beautiful setting for stunning photos at any time of day. But if you want comfortable access, not too long a drive, and nice sand and a place to bathe, try another beach. This one is remote, you´ll probably come here if you´re adventurous and enjoy going out driving in the mountains.

Worth the car journey alone. Small, and made even smaller by the recent storms, but great place to play in the large surf. Be warned: we discovered when we got there that it's a recognised place for nudists, so if you're easily offended, choose somewhere else! You must eat in one of the restaurants close to the beach: go up... More

It took a long time to get there. A nice natural beach with volcanic sand. Impossible to swim - at least in those waves that day. Just a nice beach - nothing special !

One of my favourites. If you´re loocking for a wild and almost virgin beach this is for you. It has black sand and big waves. The way to reach there is no easy but it´s worth enough. You can stay nude or with trunck it depends of you. It´s a free beach.

Definitely worthwhile. Besides the beach, the way to get there is very special, but it is a bit of a tough drive if you are with children. We started the drive towards Benijo late in the afternoon … our child was complaining at the beginning and fortunately mother and child fell asleep while I was driving on the narrow road,... More

Playa de Benijo was by far the best part of our trip. It was the only day we felt truly on vacation. Large volcanic rock jut out of the water, and the beach is large and made up of natural fine black volcanic sand beach. The drive through the Anaga mountains was filled with terraced farmland, hillside villas, and spectacular... More
