Beautiful volcanic (black) sand beach with impressive rock formations. Best beach I visited in my Tenerife-La Gomera-La Palma trip in August 2015. Waves are quite strong and hence not ideal for swimming, but the surroundings are well worth the visit. Beach was not crowded, mostly Spanish tourists, some nude bathers, dogs are welcome. Access through steep staircase.

It's still unspoilt and luckily of the beaten track of bretons and other package tourists. Good for lovers of rough seas and landscape. Yet long and dangerous drive. Not recommended for flat land inhabitants. 😉

it is one of the wild beaches in Tenerife windy, 'and with a lot of tides the road is long and not easy to drive if you are surfing - great , if not - better avoid it

With the risk of making this little piece of heaven on earth a major touritistic attraction, I would like to say that this was probably the most beautiful and peaceful beach I've ever seen.

This is my absolute favourite place on the whole island. We had a couple of days off from work and we decided to go up north on a hiking trip. After getting lost in the forrest we could smell fresh sea air so we followd it and found this little gem. What a place after emerging from the forrest like... More

Another Tenerife. Forget about Tenerife's south and its tourist industry beaches. This is completely different style. If you like it wild and natural, then this is your place. Not so easy to find it, there is just one road going there from Santa Cruz de Tenerifea, crossing the Anaga mountains range, with spectacular views. And then the beach, lot of... More

We visited this area after an exciting drive up from Los Christianos through the mountains. The sight of the Atlantic breakers pounding the shore line is awesome. We had grilled sardines at "La Venta de Marrero" overlooking the beach in glorious sunshine, doesn't get much better! Well worth the effort.

Forget the hairpin turns on the road to Masca which is sold to tourisst. For an exciting drive take the road from Santa Cruz to Taganana and beyond to Playa Roque de las Bodegas and finally Playa Benijo. This is a dead end so you go back the same way you came. If you get lost on the way back... More

Last September I have been to Tenerife for the first time in my life and I loved every minute of my holidays. We had an hotel in the north of the Island and with a car Hire We drove all around.
