An amazing place to spend the whole day.Fantastic adventure playground for the kids. Large expanses of lawns and riverside for the whole family. Even on a crowded day it is so big you can still get away from the crowds. Add into that equation a lovely house with plenty of history, including the room where Joseph Priestley discovered oxygen and... More

Went with grandparents, wife and toddler. Staff very thoughtful, food in cafe tasty if a little overpriced, but best of all there is so much to do and see for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Unlike Longleat, it is completely unspoilt and the emphasis is on outdoor fun and exploration in the beautiful grounds designed by Capability Brown. Bring a big picnic and the kids and enjoy the wonderful adventure playground and brilliant... More

Super adventure playground and extensive gardens with huge lawns for running about in. Great place to take children during the holidays. The house is pretty special and historical too.

First time visit to Bowood house and garden with friends both of us have young kids, spent 3.5 hours in tractor teds, soft play and the amazing adventure playground and no time for house and grounds! Will definitely be back soon and allow more time.

Well worth a visit, but check opening times. 100 acres of beautiful parkland (designed by ‘Capability’ Brown) with a lake, arboretum, pinetum and cascade. Perfect for walks and exploring. Bowood House itself has a wealth of antique from Queen Victoria’s wedding chair to Napoleon’s death mask and an extensive art collection.During the spring (late April to early June) there are...
