What a fantastic stately home! My wife and I visited on a Thursday and there were relatively few people there, though still in the school summer holidays. Most of the rooms in this enormous house were open and they were filled with original furniture and other contents so we could really get a good idea of how they would have... More

We spent a wonderful afternoon visiting the manor and the grounds. The volunteers there were friendly and well informed about the history of the estate. Lunch at the tea room was delightful.

had the We have had delicious coffee and scones here before, but today we had the best afternoon tea EVER. First we had a huge pot of tea served in vintage china on a pristinely white table cloth. Even though the tea room was very busy, we did not have to wait. The food was fresh, home cooked and absolutely... More

We attended an evening performance of Cole Porter music and the story of his life acted in scenes around the hall. It was an enjoyable, unusual evening. We were met in the tea rooms by the butler who set the scene and took us across to the hall where we were given a glass of wine included in the ticket... More

You need the best part of a day here. The Hall opens at 11 and closes around 5pm, you will need most of this time. The cafe is a great place to start, excellent coffee and cake! Then take a walk around the lake (takes just over an hour), time for lunch, then 2 or 3 hours in the house.... More

I think most people forget that this amazing stately home is only a few miles east of hull. Price is reasonable but would like one entry price to offer free yearly pass afterwards to encourage repeat visits especially to stable block (which in itself is superbly renovated) and gardens. The master and servant rooms are superb and back areas can... More

This must be one of England's hidden gems! A stunning hall largely built in the mid 16th Century on an earlier medieval manor house. There are over 30 rooms to view plus stables and grounds. The hall has obviously suffered over the years from impoverished owners but it remains in the same family that built it. I think the lack... More

We have been to Burton Constable several times with the caravan and love it. The facilities are excellent and the staff very helpful. On 2nd August my sister and I visited the hall for the first time. It has rooms full of beautiful furniture and paintings and really is one of the nicest country houses we have visited. The guides...
