A visit comprises three separate attractions - the Hall itself, the exhibitions in the stables and the grounds. We started in the stables as the house does not open until noon. In addition to old farming machinery and workers rooms the stables also includes the impressive full size skeleton of a whale and an exhibition of sixties music culture associated... More

Visited here with my daughter who is 7 years old and wanted to learn more about history & heritage. I have visited many stately homes and found this one was one of the best. My daughter was given a sheet with questions on which kept her busy and engaged throughout the visit. The bit a particularly liked were the guides... More

Wonderfully way to spend a few hours, all the guides were very friendly and could not have been more helpfull, husband and wife team on duty were especially good. The house and grounds are beautifully and the admission charge was very reasonable compared to national trust prices. Tea shop was very good too.

Wonderful house with good guides to help you get the most from your visit. The grounds are nothing special but provide a nice backdrop for a leisurely walk in the country. The cafe is better than most, good food and drink, and good service.

Burton Constable Hall is a splendid example of an Elizabethan mansion , with so much history behind it. Price wise the entry fee is reasonable, these places do have an immeasurable upkeep. The hall itself its fabulous and like many of its kind is decadent in its decorations. The grounds are equally as fabulous and there is plenty of room... More

we only live about 35 miles from burton constable but have never been until this afternoon, what a beautiful place will have to go back again to explore the grounds. There is a huge skeleton of a whale that had been washed up on the shore near by, the house has some lovely furniture the staff are very informative there... More

A very fine house with large rooms which are richly laid out with the appropriate furniture. A large courtyard with very clean toilets. The tea room is of the highest quality.

I am not a regular visitor to stately homes but the experience of Burton Constable is maybe changing my mind. This place is a treasure chest of objects an stories and is all the more remarkable because the collection was largely lost and then repurchased by the owners. The place is located just to the East of Hull and has... More

I live in Sproatley and I regularly walk into the grounds with my wife, other family members and grandchildren. The house and gardens, and setting is truly amazing. The caravan park must be one of the best in the country! Yes Chatsworth is grander but for a local venue its great for a day out for all the family. The... More

We visited on the same day as an antique fair. A wonderful house with a wealth of history. Take your time and explore the whole house. Polite and well informed staff who helped us.
