The road is a top of this trip. Great experience to climbe with a track to atteint the pic. Beauty of this mountain and nature. The aim : Golden Rock, very strange and interesting place. Unfortunately surrounded with souvenirs shops and cheap attractions.

It looks like a huge Gold from a distance. You can view the amazing Golden Rock during the day and at night. It is wirth the time (traveling from Rangon to Kyaikto takes about 4 hours) and travel by track up to the mountain for another 40 minutes. Suggest to book the front seats next to the driver. the weather... More

The location is surreal, the very large rock is balancing and can be moved slightly. The friendly local people and the culture is on display and their devotion to Buddah is obvious. Photo's don't do the rock justice.

“The head of the Hermit” is an enormous rock gilded with the sheet and a miracle of balance. The Burmese tell that this rock in overhang is held in balance thanks to the hair of the Buddha which the pagoda built at its top contains. A long time of difficult access, this site with fact the object of installations which... More

Well organized trip and a experience of a life time riding behind a pack truck which was not as frightening as anticipate. Was there at sun set as well as when the whole stupa is lighted up - its amazing

Unlike any significant religious site I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot). It is where religion meets theater meets chaos. Those who don't enjoy it, don't get it. Was recently there during a Myanmar holiday (the ending of exams for the children), which amped it up a bit. First the truck ride up the mountain, pay the... More

Well worth a visit away from the main city attractions. Travel on the open trucks is a particularly interesting experience.

It is really crowded there, the truck ride to the top is bumpy and uncomfortable ( no leg room). We went with the last truck which was 18:00 and could not get back down later, as many locals go and stay overnight. So we had to walk but after an hour one vehicle drove past and picked us up. It... Worth the crazy drive in the Open trucks up the mountain and seeing the thousands of locals visiting with their large extended families all praying and enjoying being together!

I think, after a terrible snd awfully long journey from Ngapali Beach straight here, I'm perhaps not at my most positive. This was the most cattle-like I've felt in Myanmar so far. It was crazy taking the roller coaster esque truck to the top, spectacularly lofty views. The rock is... Golden and perched atop another. I took the obligatory sunset... More
