This ia a real experience that you never will see in Europe or the USA. Thousants of people are near the rock, 1100m high, and to reach by 2 ways, walking 5 or 6 ours, or wth trucks thta have about 60 people in the back. This devils drive is really an exprience. If you walk, up or down make... More

Its possible to visit the place on your own as a day trip from Yangon but you will need to leave early (the earlier the better) and get back very late. My hotel helped me to get the bus tickets and once you are below the mountain, you can expect an hour long (including waiting time) bumpier than heck journey... More

The rock itself was of no spectacular significance to me. What really struck me was the dedication of the local people to what I considered a somewhat mediocre attraction. People sleep by the temple! Hundreds of them! You can hardly walk amongst all the locals squatting on the mountain top, old people lying on blankets after the pilgrimage up the... More

The most unique place that i ever seen in Myanmar. Even i still wondering how it could happen where the rock at the edge of the cliff can standing without falling down? Anyway, the best place to be visited when you visit Myanmar. let's say that you'll never come to Myanmar if you don't visit this amazing and unique place.... More

This is a must see destination if you travel to Yangon. It is crowded and chaotic, but there is something truly special about the golden rock. It had a serene vibe. The trip to Kyaikto itself is enjoyable and a great way to see the local way of life, and a stopover in Bago for a few hours is highly... More

this place is good, view from the top is amazing the rock is really on the edge. people can go there by walk or by a truck, we did with the truck but I was thinking to go by foot, which could take about 4 hours, but the truck ride was fun though, in open sky, the road is nice... More

If you are not one, you may want to skip this. The golden stupa on top of a golden rock perched at the edge of a mountain is unique. Pilgrims flock to it from all over Myanmar because it is supposed to hold a hair of the Buddha. The scenery from the top of the mountain is great. The ride... More

A pleasant surprise and not what I expected. It is amazing. I was surprised with recent earthquakes it still remains solid as. It definitely has a spiritual sense of well being when you visit it or worship it. Tip - visiting any temple remember to take shoes you can easily slip on and off. Clothing should be knee length and... More

This Pagoda is situated in an unusual manner, maybe the soil has eroded over the years, but one feels it was built on top of a rock. The trip to & from this temple is done in open trucks which is exciting, a bit frightening, but safe. The temple is on top of a hill where u have to walk... More
