not sure where you can find other places like this. incredible experience as a non swimmer. I can only recommend to include this as a nice destination, if you're visiting Sibiu in summer.

In Western Europe people pay a fortune for the basic treatments you give yourself here for pence. Changing facilities are basic - you change behind a discrete screen - and health and safety is... the lakes in ocna sibiului are very famous across romania as there is a very high salt concentration and you basically can not drown, you stay floating because it is so salty, in the summer time it is a very popular tourist attraction

I like because you can see many lakes and you can swim (and also you can make tramament), i liked that there is a nice pub where you can sit and drink a bottle of wine.....The prices of accomodation are too expensive

Ocna Sibiului its a very interesting place. Its a small village with a few saltwater lakes and a lot of hotel and b&b's around, from 12 euros a small cottage for 2 people, to 100 euros for a double room in a **** hotel. In the summer the place is very busy, so its better to avoid weekends. The only... More

We did a day of touring around some of the old citadels in this area and finished up at Ocna Sibiului where we looked forward to a dip in the lakes after a hot day travelling around. Our driver had to ask for directions a couple of times, so it wasn't well signed from the main roads. When we approached... More

Lame location, swimming there is like swimming in a mud bath. No shadow, loud and bad quality music. You need to be really old pensioner with very low standards and nothing else better to do to accept this. I've been told that there are other balneary facilities in the area but after I've seen this one, I was completely in... More

Ocna Sibiukui, is a small balnear vilage with a very sakted kaje, in wich can stay without swim. There is a beatifull old buildings nearly a modern center of nealth. But, the transport to ans return from Sibiu is not very good.

We just visited Ocna Sibiului. I always was afraid to swmm in lakes but this time I dared to try. The whole area consists on more salt lakes and even a mud lake (totaly black and renowed for being healthy for the bones). Swimming in the salt lakes is an amazing experience for all the family as you just float... More
